    - FForde is working on the API but I think he mentioned it might take a few months. Its important to get it right and working efficiently.
    Agreed!
A lot of work now will save TONS more later...
I hope FForde takes his time and gets it right!

Agreed. Grey on black and black on grey isn't readable for many people. Same for light-grey on white when adding movies.
I won't spend hours browsing movies and adding new movies to a hurting-my-eyes website (as I did on thetvdb.com)

    Great initiative though! :D

The API will most likely be developed in stages. The backdrops API is complete and the covers API will probably be complete in the next week. Movie details will follow after that, but may take some time depending on my schedule. The main reason I want to spend more time on the API before it is widely released is because with each change to the API, every application connecting to the API will have to make a change to prevent their app from breaking. We want to implement possible support for mirroring, and we definitely want to implement an API key system similar to thetvdb.com. This unfortunately means that the API will take a bit more time though. If we don't implement these features now, then in the future, we owuld have to make API breaking changes, which is definitely not desirable. So it is all coming soon, but it just takes time to get things implemented.

As far as Moving Pictures though, the next release will connect to themoviedb.org for backdrops and most likely for covers (time permitting).

    Hi RoXoR

I had the same problem and contacted Trevis (see contacts on themoviedb.org) by email. I had registered, received the registration link, jumped to the regristation page and could not log in. I don't know why, but something went wrong during the registration procedure and Trevis had to activate my user manually.

hmm, cant find a link to show the full size poster (so i could see what i have in better quality)

edit: also is there a forum/other medium to report stuff like this: http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/8255 or dupes etc in general (like thers 'sin city 2005' and 'sin city 2005-2009', the latter being a pointless dupe probably creating lotsof false positives)

hi, I've registered me, but I can't login
    is this still under construction?

You need to click the activation link we sent you via email, did you do that? Your account will not be useable until this has been done.

    Let me know!

If you can't click the poster it's a movie with an old low-res poster. In this case you should upload a proper so a high res version becomes available.

Moving forward we'll probably stop displaying all of the old ones so people will be more inclined to upload proper's but right now there's only ~50 movies with proper posters so we're waiting for that number to go up a little more.

I found issues with sharpness/grain when making highres scans of DVD covers... They always look better when you scale them down to 527X755 (most of the DVD cover art I have) I'm not sure if they will look as crisp if scaled down to 1000X15000 as you recommend.

Most of the DVDs covers are displayed at a much lower res on the HTPC anyway. Plus, they will take up more room and take longer to download. So why such a high minimum requirement?

    Regards

    Hey 2BitSculptor,

Thanks for the feedback. There is actually a pretty good discussion about this on the TMDb forums, you can read it here.
