    time zone problem

    I live in central australia so i have "nearly' the same problem. Mine is that i use the air EPG on the digital channels and then different websites for the analog channels. One of my sources is only half an hour out but need to be correct for epg based recording to work. So the problem is that i cant just use the timezone adjustment because then it will put all my other channel out of wack. I noticed that the there is a timezone entry in the grabber file, but i have no idea how to use it, can someone please show me how to adjust just one grabber file to the right time zone?

    The same problem here. I live in Germany, but part of my TV channels are russian channels. They have a timezone offset -2. I use two WebEpg grabbers to download the epg: a germany grabber and a russian grabber. WebEpg grabs the information from two separate web sites. It would be ideal if i could set a separate timezone offset for every grabber.

    If the timezone is configured correctly for the grabbers in WebEPG you shouldn't need any offset.

    i hate timezones

    The grabber file in question for me has nothing in its timezone. Reading into it i think im suppost to put the name of the timezone in the windows registry into the timezone section in the grabber file, the timezone put into the grabber file being that of the website(s) that the grabber files goes to, not my timezone?. and then using this data works out the correct times using the timezone set in my system clock?

    So this would work out so that i would have to put "Aus Eastern Standard Time" in the timezone section of the grabber file? since that is the timezone of the website. Then mediaportal using my system clock would work out that my timezone is "Cen. Australia Standard Time" and would automatically take half an hour from the program times from that grabber file?

    If there is no Timezone entry in the grabber file. WebEPG cannot do anything and must leave the times un-changed. When a grabber file contains timezone information. WebEPG will automatically calculate the difference between the grabber (website) timezone and the local configured timezone.

    So how do i write the timezone information in the grabber file?. Forgive me if this has been answered before but i have looked through the forum and the wiki and i cannot find how it is suppost to be written. Even the wiki page on how the grabber file is formated doesn't tell me. I have put "Aus Eastern Standard Time" in the grabber file timezone entry, since that is the timezone of the website, i have completely emptied the program table from the database, re-ran webepg and then then did a force import in the tv server config to repopulate the table but it is still half hour wrong.

    I'm so close to getting media portal working properly after so many years following it!!

    It's exactly what i want.

    I've checked my config yet another time and i've found some timezone entries were incorrect. The russian grabber had

    Code:
      <Info language="ru" availableDays="7" timezone="GMT +2" version="1.0.2" />

    and timezone="GMT +2" was incorrect.

    I've found the right timezone name should be "E. Europe Standard Time". It seems the names of all timezones WebEpg could accept can be found here: Microsoft Time Zone Index Values

    need to doc

    I think this should be written up in the wiki once we find out how to do it. At the moment i cant tell if im supost to write in the timezone section of the grabber file as "Aus Eastern Standard Time", or "GMT +1000", or "1000", or "10:00"
