Timeshift one channel from startup by default? (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Hope someone can give me a definitive answer on this. The Mepo machine is now our main family TV system and the family are reasonably happy with it. Good times. But there's one feature which our old Freeview recorder had which they miss. A lot. Bad times.

Basically, when we turn on the old freeview box, it goes to the last channel watched (Cbeebies) and timeshifts it. So if my wife turns on the TV she can immediately go back up to an hour to give the kids their favourite show.

MePo doesn't seem to have anything similar - basically it would mean 'turn on the TV timeshifting at all times' combined with 'remember last viewed channel'.

Could someone please confirm if I'm right and this isn't possible, or point me in the direction of how to make this magic work?

Thanks in advance....

Orion.

    Hi there,

Forgive my stuidity... but what you've described is recording a program???

Or you can configure MePo (via a plugin) to launch TV when started and this will by default use timeshift (amount of time available to backshift is determined by the space you allocate the TS buffer).

I used to just set a manual recording for every day, about 3 hrs usually did the job, never kept more than 2 recordings at a time, so hdd did not fill up.

Then kids got more selective, so I could record individually, now its just Jeremy bloody Kyle, kids huh lol.

Not stupid - I realise this is an odd one so might not have described it well! But it's really timeshifting not recording I'm after, which my Freeview PVR does whenever it's turned on.

If there's a plugin which can do that, then that sounds great. I would love for the wife to be able to flick to the TV plugin and find an hour of buffer ready and waiting on the number-one-most-important channel...!

Thanks PD - that sounds like a viable workaround. I have plenty of space for recordings and that sounds like it might work. So basically whenever you turn on that channel, it'll be in the middle of recording, and you can therefore rewind as needed.

Our little ones are definitely still Cbeebies viewers though - being only 2 it'll be a while before they can watch Kyle. About 20 years, if I have any say!

    Ta,

    Orion,

Alterntively you can configure the system using "Turn on TV when entering TV section" under Configuration/TV. TV will start with the last watched channel and timeshift. Depending on your settings you can then go back and watch your show.
