Titan - Extended (3 Viewers)

Not much has been done lately for several reasons. Everybody can follow the Titan Extended development here: https://github.com/MediaPortal/TitanExtended

You can ofc provide fixes and post them here....

Hmmm, allright, but a lot of fixes are allready been done and uploaded in serveral threads. So why not bundle them into an official update, than everyone can benivite from those fixes that are allready made.

Remember that Titan is THE new default skin for Mediaportal so it is the postcard of our software. No problem if real life eats up all your spare free time at this moment, we all have that kind of periods but if that is the case, please call for menpower to get things done sooner!

Looking at github, almost nothing seems to be updated since the latest version of Titan extended.. Is that really what it is? I thought a new view for TVSeries, new files for onlinevideos, fixes for subcentral etc. Where almost finished. But nothing seems to be thrue of that?

And what about the default skinfiles for Titan? (Non-extended) can we follow that progress somewhere aswell?

@powermarcel10 I back you 100% but will go a little further and say, please guys don't start anymore projects that you don't intend to finish. I've been here long enough to see that this is a growing trend with you guys. I have also posted something to the same effect earlier. I know you guys have amazing talented and a great asset to mp and I do appreciate you efforts. But please let it be finished by the community if you have no time.

I think how they spend their time adding to MP is up to them. Their contribution to MP since I have been using it is huge and I have loved all their work. And I wouldn't consider their previous projects unfinished either, I instead think their very refined and polished, with a high attention to detail.

I don't think you can criticise the way they contribute because it doesn't meet your expectations.

The problem is now that Titan is official part of MediaPortal it represents the first impression users get about the product and we should not be in situation where we don't have

a) proper tracking of issues
b) plan to fix these
b) someone who can actually fix issues

I was actually suprised how many issues I found in Titan just by using it for one day. I'm also a bit sad that skin files for the plugins I'm responsible for are quite unpolished. Don't get me wrong here, I appreciate all the effort but I feel a bit that no skin file would be better than one that has clear defects since it gives an impression that the whole plugin is crap.

i disagree both your points, theirs old skin projects are almost not finished, from my pov.

And also i would criticize the way how they , in fact, avoid the contributions from the community.
There are many users (also i) that posted some pages to resolve missing files on part of plugins and were totally ignored (imho)

Maybe they should point to open develop more to all the community.... the repository still not updated and there is not an effective bugtracking.

Also i feel a bit no sense , to release a skin without release before a proper editor and also to have the skin split to titan and extended(???)
Honestly after a while i totally abandoned titan for streamed again.
It is impossible to customize the home (unless use a text editor)
Missing many plugins xmls (a part of the unofficials).
And last seems they are not interested to help community to help them

More menpower and a proper roadmap/release plan will solve all this negative stuff without loosing quality..

A skin like Titan in this state need updates more frequently to get it more polished sooner.

A lot of thing are allready done behind the scenes for Mediaportal 1.4.0. But the most visible bugs are skin related at this moment. So to get a better user experience, these bugs need to be fixed sooner.

I think that there are a lot people who are able to help here (including myself). I can fix a lot of bugs myself, and if I knew that these fixes where going to be included into the next release I will make some more efforts. But I don't have the feeling that this will happend and that the team is only creating there own fixes.

Remember that Titan is opensource aswell, right? So we need to bundle our power here!

When 10 bugs are fixed; just bundle them into a new version and release those stuff.. Don't wait before 100 bugs are fixed. That doesn't make sense!

If you really want to help, you can start adding issues to the trackers.

Because of Titan is an MP default skin, we have to split them:

So you ask me to copy/paste all issues to the bugtracker as discribed here?

So isn't that enough? Isn't there allready a "Titan bugtracker?"

Or even better let the plugin developers release there own updates (using your updater of course) then the community can submit their skin files to the developers.
