    XMLTV Processor

    Hi all,

I created a little program that allows you to merge, rename or suppress channels from a tvguide file.

    You can find it here

It's the first version, so don't hesitate to give me your feedback, feature request or bug report.

How is this differen than what we can do already? I am pretty sure we can merge, rename and exclude channles from the list already.

You can do that in MP, but this tool allow you to do that on the TV Guide datas.

For example in my country we have two channels who are grabbed separately by xmltv but are diffused on one channel only (the first on up to 19pm and the second upto 03am)

With my tool you can merge the data in the tvguide file and affect it a new name.

Another example : you can rename a channel after the XMLTV grab. Like that you can choose another name in MP than the one the grabber choosed :)

    is it clearer? ;)

Is this the sw i need when my dvb provider have 2 normally 24 hour channels split time, like chan 'a' from 0000->1200, and chan 'b' 1200->2400, my problem then would be what to choose, xmltv data from chan 'a' (and have no epg data for chan 'b') from 1200-2400 and vice versa?

No, you don't need this tool. If you use WebEPG to grab the TV guide data you can merge the channels that way. There's no GUI config for this so you need to manually edit the webepg.xml to set this up, search for "webepg" and "merge" in the forums and you'll find details on how to set this up.

(I merge Barnkanalen and Kunskapskanalen that way)

    Cheers,
    Martin

Thanks vinch100! I use your tool to rename some channels from tv guides produced by xmltv and it works very well, but I miss the ability to copy a channel. In Sweden we have several regional versions of some channels, which always have the same programmes. It would be nice to have tv guide to all of them :)
