Now you lost me! =) are you able to download the SVN from the link I have given you? If yes then okay we can skip me giving you a link. If you are not able to download from the SVN, then whatever files you are using, are the wrong files. There is only one accurate source for the code, and that is thru SVN.

Here is the link for mediaportal svn in a rar.

I have tried downloading with the link you gave me (https://sources.team-mediaportal.com/svn/public/trunk/mediaportal). It downloads for several minutes... it actually gets quite a few files downloaded successfully, then it gives the error I posted. However, I believe that mm might have been incorrect when he directed me to check out MP1. The files I need (MediaPortal.Core\Services\Logging\CrashLoggerBase.cs, among others) actually appear to be part of MP2. I just tried checking out MP2 with Tortoise SVN and I got the exact same error after it downloaded a bunch of files. The address I used to download MP2 is MP2 - Revision 3955: /trunk/MediaPortal.

If you are able to successfully check out the source from those two addresses, then there are two possibilities:
    a) I am using a bad version of Tortoise SVN
    b) There are some settings in Tortoise that I need to change

I am using Tortoise SVN 1.6.99, Build 21799. I downloaded the binaries for T-SVN from here: Index of /latest/win32/small. If that was the wrong place to get T-SVN, then please direct me to the correct URL.

If there are some settings that need to be changed in T-SVN, please tell me where to look. I didn't see any mention of changing settings in the MP Wiki post regarding how to get the source code.

I'm downloading it now, but I would still like to get T-SVN working correctly. Just in case the version of T-SVN that I downloaded has a problem, where do you recommend I download the binaries for T-SVN?

Some people have problems getting the entire sources in one go. You may have to restart the checkout several times to get the complete sources. After you have the complete sources, you will probably never see the error again.

    Hi again Brian

Seidelin is absolutely correct - just start the checkout again and it carries on where it left off. Note that this mentioned on our SVN page:

Wait until the download is finished (this can take some time, it is large). At times the download may time out. You can resume the download from where it stalled simply by starting the checkout process again.

However, I believe that mm might have been incorrect when he directed me to check out MP1. The files I need (MediaPortal.Core\Services\Logging\CrashLoggerBase.cs, among others) actually appear to be part of MP2.

I have now had the chance to download the IRSS code myself, and the IRSS solution (IR Server Suite.sln) *which includes the translator that you've been talking about* compiles fine for me. No problem whatsoever.

It seems like you're trying to compile the MediaPortal plugin solution - MediaPortal.sln. That is somewhat more complicated, but I managed to do it. You *do not* need MediaPortal 2 code. What you do need is the following:

From the "MediaPortal and TV-Server's common libraries, code and plugins" repository:
    Common.Utils
    DirectShowLib
    OsInfo
    SolutionInfo.cs

    From the TV Server repository:
    Plugins
    SetupControls
    TvControl
    TVDatabase
    TvLibrary.Interfaces

    From the MediaPortal 1 repository:
    Core
    Databases
    Dialogs
    MediaPortal.Support
    RemotePlugins
    Utils

You can see the required folder structure in the attached screenshot. To be honest, it may be easier just to check out the trunk folder from our SVN server - https://sources.team-mediaportal.com/svn/public/trunk/. That way you'd have everything.

Once again though, I'd like to reiterate that the files that you have mentioned earlier (related to the Translator) are in the IR Server Suite solution, not the MediaPortal plugin solution.

    Got to run. :)

OK, I'll try again, but when I try to restart the check-out, it gives me an error that it is "locked". I tried to right-click the folder and choose "unlock", but then it gives me an error telling me that it is NOT locked. I'll gather screen shots this time so you can see what I'm talking about.

OK, now I've tried downloading the entire trunk as suggested earlier. I'll paste the screens below. And by the way, I tried the rar file that was posted by Lyfesaver74... it doesn't contain the CrashLoggerBase.cs file either.

I've attached the steps I took as screen shots, in order.

I think that file (CrashLoggerBase.cs) belongs to MP2.

That's what I thought. And if you look at my post here, you will see that I could not build IRSS without that file.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should do about the T-SVN errors I am getting?
