This is a bug report from the topic here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...nd-tv-server-90/tv-server-fails-record-67878/

I am having trouble recording/timeshifting channels in certain transponders. Decryption of the channels is fine, as is viewing the channel with alternative software (like ProgDVB). TV-Server fails to store any information into the timeshift file. No errors occur during timeshifting. Other transponders are recording fine. Tuning details appear to be correct.

The problem area seems to be tswriter. Older mediaportal versions have the same problem, except for recording to mpg, which works.

Attached are logs from TV-Server, including screenshots illustrating the problem.
Also attached is an overview of the transponders contents, made with TS Packet Checker.

bump

Maybe because the vacation period is over a developer has time to look into the problem now? Or will this never be fixed?

Looks like SoftCAM is used? Sorry, in that case no developer is going to look at the possible issue.

I do not believe the error is softcam related, for two reasons:

    1. only certain transponders fail
    2. other dvb programs (dvbdream, progdvb) work fine with these channels.

And as you can see, the softcam is just decoding the channel. I am almost certain the same will happen with a hardware cam.

Unfortunately logs doesn't show any errors or oddities. All looks good. And as that transponder content is encrypted, it would require someone who has an access to the stream (and a valid CAM subscription) tp be able to debug the issue more closely.

19-07-2009 12:45:00.218 Recorder: TIMESHIFT start of video detected
19-07-2009 12:45:00.218 Recorder: TIMESHIFT start of audio detected

That means that the streams are getting correctly to the TsWriter, but for some reason TsWriter is rejecting the TS packets. Hopefully someone has time to build a TsWriter that contains more debug logging.

I think no one of the mediaportal people live in this area, and as it is DVB-C, nobody could recieve it, the only data I can provide are transponder dumps, but they would be encrypted anyway.

I am a programmer myself, no knowledge of c++ or directshow filters though. I could compile it myself with the right tools. Then I would only need the information you are interested in for debugging.
