    Hi all

I have been using mediaportal for about three years, last week i decided to test the new version Client Server. mediaportal version 1.0.

I am having a problem with the TS video recording only XML file is written to the folder without the TS video.

sometimes if i am restarting the tv service it works and write the ts file fine but most of the time it is not working right.

i have tried almost everything including new installation twice with Mysql and also sql express both of the installation gave the same results .

i am using clean install XP with Service pack 3 . my video card is pvr150 hauppauge.

i am a huge fan of the project called mediaportal , i will glad to get some help as i really like to move to the new version in production in my house.

if you need logs of my system i will provide.

    thanks in advance.

You are using some weird characters, which might be the reason for your problems. MP has a problem with some Turkish letters, I know. What language are you using?
    from tv.log:
    D:\\המפקח מורס 6 - Hallmark - 2009-01-01.ts
    and mpfilewriter log:
    31-12-2008 19:58:52.15 CFileSinkRecorder::create file:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\recordings\çãùåú 10 - òøåõ 10\çãùåú 10 - - 2008-12-31 - 8_00 PM.ts failed

Try setting the recordings name to something simple, like %date% to check that it is indeed the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks i am using hebrew , i tried recording manual without the epg guide it seems to work ok.

you are correct its the language which causing the tswriter to fail.

so i changed my regional settings to hebrew in all the fields and checked few recordings it seems to work fine somehow for now. i will keep testing and let you know.

thank you very much for your support.

Ok, so changing the regional settings to hebrew seems to fix the issue?
If your testing remains successful, I guess we can close the mantis issue with a note explaining how to workaround.
