Synopsis:

Hi once again everyone!

Is there anyone out there who can help me with a tunning Issue on a Nova-S Plus DVB card?

If I use the Hauppauge software I can for example find BBC3 / BBC4 / ITV Granada but I can not find Zone Horror / Zone Reality and many more.

However using MP I can find Zone Horror / Zone Reality and many more but BBC3 / BBC4 / ITV Granada do not appear on the channel listings!!

I am assuming this has something to do with the correct settings for the LNB but I can not figure it out for the life of me. I am using a standard Sky Minidish and the Standard Sky LNB!

Any help appreciated.

Hi

OK here goes, this is under MP:

LNB0 = 9750
Switch = 11700
LNB1= 10600

Cband =5150

Circular = 10750

LNB#1

Desc = None
LNB = KU-Band
Tone = 22KHz
Satellite = Astra 2A,2B, 2D (28.2E) / Europe

I have tried various parameters but same result.

I have removed all the channels and re-scanned and no change still BBC 3/4 etc missing.

I am using the latest CD download from the Hauppauge site for the drivers!

Thanks

Hi

No I am not behind a sat switch.

PC ---> Nova-S Plus -----> Coax ------> LNB.

I have had a Sky Digibox connected to this and all channels are ok.

As I say depending which program I use determines which channels I get. Both programs MP and Hauppauge software both seem to have the same tuner settings for the LNB.

It's strange that these are not channels at either end of the range. BB3 / 4 are somewhere in the middle I think!

Thanks

    Creat a tpl file using notepad and place it in the tuning parameters folder containing the following only...

    satname=BBC 3/4
    10773,H,22000

    Then retune using this tpl file.
    If the channels are not found post your MediaPortal.log file.

    Hi again :)

    I will do as you have asked.... does it mater what I call the TPL file.

    On a further note, I may have figured out something.

    There are 2 satellites at 28.0W Eurobird which contains some of the channels and Astra which contains some of the other channels.

    When tuning MP I selected Astra... thus I think the missing channels or am I wrong?

    If I am correct, is it possible to tell MP to scan both satellites?

    Thanks

    OK my theory on my previous post was correct.

    2 Satellites ocupy the same space!

    So can I tell media portal that I need it to search for Astra and Eutelsat using the same LNB. I just managed to do this using the Hauppauge software so I am assuming it must be possible.

    However having looked at the tuning settings it appears I have to select 2 different LNB's well I only have 1 and it points at both satellites!

    Any help would be appreciated, I only have one wife and the devorce is approaching! :)

    OK just had a look at this again, Astra and Eurobird are listed together but still it does not find all the channels. Can I assume that this is because the channel tuning information is found in the 28deg.tpl file and if so is it just a case of me adding the additional frequencies?

    Thanks

    Hi again...... :(

    OK I have checked the 28degreesEast.tpl file and it contains the correct transponder for BBC 3/4 as far as I can tell.

    I removed all my channels and created the TPL you requested containing ony the data you requested.

    I re-ran the scan and you can see the .log file attached. Obviously it still did not find the required channels.

    Thanks

    Channels Still Missing On Nova-S Plus DVB Card

    I have spent all day compiling a new 28degreesEast.tpl file containing the recommended frequencies for all of the channels @ 28.2 and 28.5 Degrees East.

    All of the compiled data was extracted the Eutelsat and Astra satellite charts on their own web sites.

    I cleared my channels and re-scanned using the new .TPL file and unfortunatly I still have BBC 3 / BBC 4 / Film 4 / Film 4 + and other channels missing from my channel line-up.

    After extensive tests I have to conclude that either the frequencies are incorrect and the channels have been moved to a different location or MP has a nasty bug which is preventing it from locating the channels on the given frequencies.

    Why it should do such a thing I have no idea but at this point I am completely puzzled as to the cause of this.

    Regards
