All works fine if i start the HTPC and switch on the tv.

But if the HTPC is still on and i switch to another input on my TV (or example HDMI2 for my PS3) and switch back to the HDMI1 (HTPC) the screen stays black ?!?

After restarting the PC it works fine. But i dont want to restart every time i switch an input.

Can you check that using left\right remote arrow keys does not bring back desktop (or any other key for that matter)

That's what seems to work for nvidia cards on hdmi, so may not apply to you.

Also read recently here about a change under the CCC, for disabling auto detect tv, this enabled it to connect to a specific hdmi tv connection.

If nobody can give you that info here, try googling "black screen on resume ATI"

I've tried autodetect tv enable/disable but no success!

Googling "black screen on ati after resume" does not help.
Because i have not the problem after resume.

The HTPC is still running, i switch to another input from HDMI 1 (PC) to HDMI2 (PS3).
After for example 30 minutes i switch back to HDMI1 (PC) and i get a blank screen.

Only restart of the HTPC brings back the screen or unplug/plug-in to my tv.

I think i need a tool that send alway a "i am alive" to the tv, so the tv gets the signal.

Does nobody else have this problem?

I don't know if it will work for ATi (or Win XP) but you could install the MS 'devcon' utility (a command line equivalent to Device Manager) and map the 'devcon rescan' command to a hotkey combo (I use Hoekey for this).

The command forces Windows to rescan for Plug-and-Play devices, which normal revives 'lost' monitors on my Vista/nVidia system.

Another thought is to try disabling the ATi driver service - this may stop it seeing the changes on the DVI/HDMI output connections.

I've found a tool that does this job.
But how can i map a key on my MCE Remote to start a exe file?

Or send a keyboard shortcut "ALT + W" for example?

Is there no way inside MediaPortal?
