I have an old analog tv card and I am using composite in. Video works fine with tv server but i can't get sound to work.. the audio is connected to the line in of my pc... and i have chosen "Line Input #1", "Line Input #2" and "Line Input #3" in channel configuration of the composite channel. Nothing worked.. no sound only video

    Hello and welcome yeahman45 :)

Are you able to find a picture of the card or tell us the brand and model number?
Your goal should be to connect the audio to the TV card itself, rather than to the system's audio chip. That is the only way you're going to get sound in TV Server. The "line input #x" inputs refer to inputs on the TV card.

Okay. It should not be necessary to connect the TV audio output to your PC.
How are you testing? With MediaPortal, or with preview... or some other way?
Are you able to provide log files?

Thx for the quick reply. I tested using preview and also tested in xbmc. I am not sure if it is normal in device manager; i have 2 instances of the tv card

    1) TV Capture Card WDM Tv Tuner
    2) TV Capture Card WDM Video Capture

nothing for audio... is it normal?

    will try the log

    No problem. :)

    Okay.
The fact that tuning is working at all suggests that TV Server thinks it is receiving audio. It could be silent audio for some reason... or the audio decoding in XBMC or preview might not be working.

This tells me it is an old tuner driver design. I have a tuner with a similar driver design (Hauppauge Nova S Plus)... and that has a "Hauppauge WinTV 88x Audio Capture" device in device manager. So, I'm not sure if it is normal or not. The log files might tell us more...

    I can't help with XBMC.
What I'm mainly looking for is all the TV Server log files:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left corner.
    3. Zip all the files you find there.
    4. Post/attach the zip file.

question: In composite channel config, I have 3 Line input; Line Input #1, #2 and #3: what does that mean?
