ok progres... when i start recording... audio starts (weird) .. but it starts once i start a recording... the problem is the audio is robotic and has "hiss" background... the host pc is also outputting the audio via line in and it's clear... but when played on tv server, the audio is not clear, "scrambled" and robotic

the audio issue is hardware or software related(mpeg audio encoder?)? audio is fine and clear with intervideo windvr

    here's the logs
Everything looks fine there. Using the Intervideo encoders. I wouldn't be able to tell if there were hiss/noise problems from log files. You have connected into the blue audio input right... not the green one?

question: In composite channel config, I have 3 Line input; Line Input #1, #2 and #3: what does that mean?
Channel configuration shows all possible inputs, not just the ones available on your card. From the picture I'm guessing you only have tuner (RF videoCVBS #1 (composite), SVHS #1 (s-video) and Line Input #1 (audio).

I recommend you disconnect the green output. The hiss possibly indicates volume turned down low. Have a look in the Windows audio mixer and see if there are any volume controls for the tuner.

From your log files it looked like you are (or were using the Intervideo encoders which are the same as what WinDVR would be using (if any). Therefore I suspect a hardware or configuration issue. Please check the devices and volume levels Windows audio mixer as mentioned above.

Finally, please provide a short recording so I can hear what you're talking about.
