Hello,

I'm running Windows 7 64bits and Mediaportal 1.12

When I restart Windows TV Works fine but some times after resume Windows TV doesn't work anymore. After some seconds an error message appears "Impossible to reproduce streamX" where X is a number.

If I close Mediaportal and open TVServer Configuration, the cannel, using the preview button Works fine, but if I open Mediaportal again, the same error appears. And the only way to solve it, it's by restarting Windows.

Any deas? Attached some logs.

It looks like it may be an issue on the client side. My guess is that it is some kind of audio renderer issue, perhaps related to HDMI. It would have been better if you could have used the watchdog tool so that we could see which audio devices were available at the time.

Please try to use a DirectSound device as audio renderer instead of MediaPortal Audio Renderer. If that doesn't help, please post log files with the watchdog tool.

Actually, I just realised the MPAR log includes a litte information about the available audio devices.

It says the following devices were available:

    Is that right?

In any case, please still try to use a DirectSound audio renderer to see if it helps.

That's correct.I'm using Mediaportal Audio Renderer and SPDIF interfce for audio output.

Now i've tried with Direct sound device, but still not working. Now mediaportal freeze with no error message. I have to use task manager to kill it. Some logs attached.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the fresh log files. I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I still think it is a client-side problem.
Shortly after you try to view the channel, I see:
    [collapse]
    [2015-09-26 10:45:02,976] [Log ] [MPMain ] [WARN ] - Main: OnDeviceLost()
    [2015-09-26 10:45:03,011] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - TexturePacker:Dispose()
    [2015-09-26 10:45:03,021] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - D3D: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL - presentation parameters might contain an invalid value[/collapse]

In other words: your GPU (video card) has become unusable. Presumably that is why MediaPortal freezes.

When did the problem start? (Did you update your GPU or audio drivers recently? ...or did you update MediaPortal recently?)
Is there a reason for choosing to use RTSP when TV Server is installed on the same PC? (This is an unusual choice, because zapping with RTSP will be slower.)

P.S. Your system event log file is warning:
"26/09/2015 10:43:43";"Disk";"(0)";"Error";"El controlador detectó un error de controladora en \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.";"3221487627"

Might be a good idea to check your HDDs.

I'm using a singleseat setup. And I tried the RTSP just to try if this option could make any difference. I will leave it as it was before.

I updated the audio drivers because I was trying to use the HDMI port to send audio to my receiver, but I'm not using it because I could only use 2 channel configuration. But now everything is suppoused to be as it was before (before that I was suffering the same issue).

I will try to uninstall and reinstall ATI drivers and sound drivers. I will report back.

P.S: Which diak is the one reporting this warning? I have a SSD disk withthe OS and a second disk with the media. Do you recoment any tool to check de HDDs?

    Thanks again!!

Okay. I agree that you should put it back to the default setting (don't use RTSP).

So to be clear, you had the same problem before you tried to update the audio driver?
Have you always had the problem and just never reported it?

Sorry, I'm not sure. The message is not clear.

I have a SSD disk withthe OS and a second disk with the media.

The Windows checkdisk utility is all right for basic checks. For other tests I use HD Tune.

    Hi,

After some more testing I have found that the problem only occurs whether under LAV Video Configuration the "Deinterlacing Mode" is set to Disabled (Progressive).

The reason I was using the 'Disabled' option, is that if I select 'Auto', 'Aggressive' or 'Force', my red, green and yellow lines jump a lot, I have some drop frames and the tv video playback is not smooth.

So when the LAV Video Configuration the "Deinterlacing Mode" is set to Disabled (Progressive) I have smooth live tv video playback but the tv is not working after resume. And also some horizontal lines apperas when looking sports channels.

And when LAV Video Configuration the "Deinterlacing Mode" is set to 'Auto', 'Aggressive' or 'Force', tv is fine after resume but the playback is not smooth at all.

    Any Idea why?

And yes I had the problem before I tried to update the audio driver. I was trying a lot of different configurations to get rid of this live tv shuttering video.
Later I will check my hard disk.

    Thaks again!!

    Strange.

AFAIK your GPU and CPU are quite weak. Therefore your system may struggle to display h.264 1080i video successfully.

When you disable deinterlacing, you reduce the load on your GPU (or CPU, depending on configuration). The load reduction is probably enough to allow successful h.264 decoding (ie. "smooth live tv video playback").

You have to configure video decoding (DXVA, deinterlacing, post-processing, anti-aliasing etc.) very carefully in order to balance the load on the GPU and CPU and avoid overloading.

And also some horizontal lines apperas when looking sports channels.
No surprises there! This is because you have disabled deinterlacing. Deinterlacing removes those "horizontal lines". If you disable it then the horizontal lines will not be removed.

    Any Idea why?
    As explained above.

Please post screenshots of all your LAV video codec and AMD Catalyst Control Center settings.
