TV jumps every 60-90 seconds - using 4TR (1 Viewer)

OK I uninstalled MP TV Server,

TVServer being installed is not a problem as long as it is disabled in services, as mine is.

MP is looking for a file that is no longer available, I recommend doing the following

Uninstall in the following order, do not change the defaults for uninstaller, doing this and you will have everything back to normal in 10 minutes, but working

ForTheRecord
Mediaportal

Reinstall

Mediaportal + TVServer, now go to Services and disable "tvservice" by right click and select properties.

Now reinstall ForTheRecord + Argus.

Reboot and you should now have a working system, having TVServer installed leaves certain libraries available that Micropolis uses when he creates his plugins, this saves you mucking around getting those files in place, if you decide to try any of his goodies.

OK I did exactly as requested, and I've noticed a number of improvements:
- DVDs now work fine where there were a lot of problems before.
- changing channels works fine.

Overall, reinstalling has been a great help, but I still have my original issue of TV jumping every minute or so. I need to reinforce that the TV doesn't stutter as such, it's more like every say 90 seconds, it jumps to a frame 2 seconds ahead, and then plays normally (If that makes sense).

It's one of those things that while it seems pretty small, can be pretty irritating after a while.
Attached are the latest logs, hopefully they can shed some light.

You do seem to be having "late frames" showing up in the tsreader log which coincide with your 90 seconds.

Inside the FTR console go to LiveTV\Radio, select a channel to start live stream, VLC player needs to be installed for this, do you get the jumps playing live tv, if not then it seems to be a tsreader or possible network issue (wireless causes problems), are you using unc paths or rtsp for playback (MP config\plugins FTR TVplugin config).

Also have you got any antivirus that could be scanning folders, if so disable scanning of recording\timeshifting folders.

Can you try the TSReader from this thread use the 0.4.17a version, just replace the one in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

After that I would ask for Owlsroosts help in the experimenatal tsreader thread, if none of the above helps.

Hi Again,

Unfortunately I tried the latest TSreader file and I still get the same "late frame" issue.
Also I have no antivirus software on this machine, and I'm not on wireless (My HTPC plus dierctly into my router via a network cable). I've also attached the latest logs and a screenshot of my ftr config in MP configurator.

I have the option "Prefer RTSP streaming for live TV (if available)" ticked so I assume this means I've got RTSP setup.

Just want to say thanks heaps for your support on this - I really love Media Portal and how far it has progressed since I tried it 5 years ago - getting this issue resolved would be fantastic.

Hi, sorry for the late reply been out most of the day.

Can you please update to MP1.2.3, this involves uninstalling FTR, then doing the upgrade to 1.2.3 and then reinstalling FTR.

Now this is your choice, but try using MP's TVServer instead of Argus, why you ask, after a conversation I had to day with my daughters boyfriend who had been round watching the grand prix, he commented that there were no more little skips every minute or so, now the only thing I have changed is going over to TVServer for testing the new release, now I very rarely watch live tv, if I do then my attention is not 100% on it, because apparently he has noticed it a few times when he's been around, so I reloaded my Argus system image and yes in live tv there is a minute jump every 90 secs whatever channel I'm on, it is barely noticeable, but it is there, whether a newer version of FTR will have a cure I do not know.
