In my home-network I have Netbios over TCP/IP deactivated. It seems as if the TV engine 0.3 Client plugin does not work without Netbios over TCP/IP activated.
m00 192.168.1.30 is my TV Server. A04 192.168.1.24 is a test PC where I tested the TV engine 0.3 network client.
With Netbios over TCP/IP deactivated the client does not connect to the sql server of 192.168.1.30. Although I've entered an IP adress for the server, the error log shows, that the client wants to use netbios to connect to the TV Server:
Code:
Source=m00\SQLEXPRESS
I've tried to connect over TCP/IP within the SQL Management studio on 192.168.1.24 and it works without any problem:

If I enter an IP adress in the TV client, the cilent should not use netbios to connect to the sql server of the TV server.
When I activated Netbios in the network properties of the NICs on server and client the network client TV was working, but I would prefer having Netbios deactivated.

Just a small update:
To get the sql connection running on the network client, in the following TVServer setup dialog
tvserverconfignz0.jpg

in stead of the hostname (marked red) the IP adress of the TV-Server has to be entered. Note that in this case a fixed IP adress for the computer running the TV-server has to be used.
Also the "SQL Server Browser" Service has to be activeted (startup automatically).

Then on the Network Client the SQL connection works fine in the TV Plugin. Groups and channel lists are there however when tuning to a channel no audio/video is there and an error message appears. Later sometimes audio/video appears.
