Instead of constantly fighting Windows the Team decided to take control of the Suspend/Resume process to avoid any further issues. Since MediaPortal is an HTPC application and as such is in full control of the system (the system is not used for anything else) this seems like the best choice.

Out of curiosity, did this happen somewhere between RC1 and RC3?

This problem caused me to abandon MP after 3 years of trying to fix this. I can honestly say I have tried every setting known to man with all SVN's from 1.1.0. It did start after upgrading from 1.0.2, which was stable. As much as I hate people with an attitude towards developers of Open Source Software who are actually trying to help him, the guy has a point. It is sometimes easily suggested that it is not in the MP code and it is a driver or hardware configuration error. Reverting back to 1.0.2 does however solve everything. In my case 7MCE with MediaBrowser does the job (as always WAF driven).I am however still a fan but that TVserver and standby problem needs to fixed or I will not return. Something changed in the 1.1.0 code of handling power and start-up sequence and it is causing a lot of people mariage problems.

That said: It is still a fantastic piece of software and very promissing, respect for developing this FREE software.

Same problem here. I restart TVService and MediaPortal with Eventghost after standby. But would be nice if this is not necessary.

Ultimately the problem is that many things have changed since 1.0.2. I am sure that you are right that one of these changes has broken this feature for some people. However, team members do use power scheduler, so if this was a general problem, I am confident that the source would havce been found. Ultimately, it is difficult to find the cause of problems that only occur on some systems, and the team is quite small and has limited time. That is why we rely on the community for good bug reports and even fixes. Please bear in mind that most of the team members started out as users who had a look at the code and decided to try and fix the issues they found.

    Best wishes,

    Hi all,

All I am seeing in this thread is complaints about the problem.

I posted a binary that might actually fix the problem, and it seems that not one person has tested it and reported back to tell us whether it works.

I presume that if the problem is still in RC5, you will carry on complaining that we are not doing anything to fix it.

Come on people, if you report a problem, and we provide a possible fix for it, at least test it so we know if we are on the right lines.

elliottmc, you posted a fix for MySQL.
    I'm using MS SQL

Indeed, so my rant was not directed at you (although I don't think you have provided logs, so we are unable to help you).

However, it may be that if the fix for MySQL can be shown to work, a similar fix for MSSQL could be possible (I honestly don't know since I don't understand the problem).

Either way, we need logs for problems, and confirmation of fixes.

Actually, my logs are posted above.
    They are always the same.
It's still a problem to get the new ones, as to do it I must switch off my script, which solves the problem, when going away in the morning and ask my little daughter to gather logs using the inbuilt tool whenever the error happens.
    Which of course sounds absurd.
Or I must do it late at night when my family doesn't watch TV.
I must sit before TV always hibernating PC to catch the error.

Yes they are, but as arion_p noted, they are incomplete.

I don't wish to appear rude, but we simply do not have the manpower to keep replying to you and keep begging you to provide the information we need in order to fix this bug.

If you are going to report a bug and provide all information requested by the team, then the team will do their best to help. However, if you are going to provide incomplete bug reports and then complain that the problem does not get fixed, then the unpaid volunteers who spend their valuable time working on MediaPortal will probably just ignore you.

Actually, my logs are posted above.
The logs you have provided are from a non-working network configuration. I have explained before why your subnet configuration is wrong.

I can understand that it is difficult for you to provide new logs, but like I said before it is impossible for us to know what causes the issue from a set of logs that show issues most probably caused by confirmed network misconfiguration.
