TV Record to a NAS is laggy and discontinious (1 Viewer)

When set record path to my nas using \\NAS\Records\ i get a laggy stream and discontinious.
Also i get this when i connect a network drive in windows explorer and using the networg-drive e.g. letter U:\Records.

When i set record-path to local harddrive everything is fine.

Im using Synology DS411 with 1Gbit LAN connection. I get 79mb/s while copying files to/from NAS.

Do you have a trick for me? My quick and dirty solution is, to sync the local folder with the NAS every night... but this is not what i want.

You can change in the networkconfig to use JUMBO Packs. Maybe it can help u

I'll try it when i'am at home. Do you mean the config at hardware-manager in detail the settings for my NIC? I've already tryed to update my NIC Driver. Thanks so far! I give you feedback if this will fix the problem.

I now tryed this, but unfortunately my Gbit Router cant handle Jumbo Frames as well. So the speed has increased dramatically 40mb/s instead of 70-90mb/s when i transfer a file. And also discontinous.

I will try to get another switch which is supporting jumbo frames.

Could there be another reason for it, or should i just focus on gettin a new Gbit switch with jumbo frame support?

I would never ever record to a network storage. Used it in the past and I always had some issues.
It would be better to record to a local drive and let the TV server start a script afterwards to copy the data to your nas.

There is no change in the traffic volume but you will never have corrupted recordings etc.
Especially when your system is recording something and you are copying files to / from your nas you could have some problems with bad or even corrupted recordings.

mhh you're right! I thought my setup 1Gbit and the Synology could handle this....

Do you know a clean way to start scripts after record ends?

I can only speak about ForTheRecord. I'm using ForTheRecord instead of the standard MediaPortal TV Server and this has the ability to say that a program should run after recording. So it is guaranteed that the recording has ended before the script is started.
