TV screen locks up (1 Viewer)

Your only available tuner is being used in TV Server configuration for BYUtv (attempted preview). KULX-HD is on a different frequency so you can't tune both channels at the same time.

Removed BYUtv and remapped all of the channels to the card (why is the card listed as 2 rather than 1?). Ran test of channels. Everything OK. Started MP and chose TV. When I clicked TV on everything locked up as it did originally. If I had not already removed MP and reinstalled several times I would be tempted to do it again. Obviously, I am doing or have done something wrong.

Tuners are numbered in the order that they are added to TV Server. The built-in DVB-IP tuner will always be 1.

We're back to the first problem again. Tuning now succeeds on the server but timeshifting fails to start with this error:

TSReaderPlayer: Unable to start playing

Reinstalling would be completely pointless - it would not fix this problem. I have a hunch that I have seen this issue once before with FFDShow -->here<--. The logs are *very* similar. We never did get to the bottom of why FFDShow was not able to work correctly. I wonder whether it has something to do with the stream format and the library that you've chosen for MPEG 2 decoding. Could you please try two things for me:

1. Try using the other MPEG 2 library in FFDShow. The two options are libmad and libavcodec - just switch to the one that you're not using at the moment, restart the PC (for "safety") and then try again. The screenshot -->here<-- shows what I mean.
2. If the first option doesn't work then try the LAV video and audio decoders instead of the FFDShow ones. In fact it may even be preferable to use them in the long term. However please do at least try the first option as I would really dearly like to know what causes this issue.

I went to the link you gave me and read the thread. The poster indicated that he changed the MPEG-2 Video decoder to Gabest.
I did this and I now get video. Hooray. Now I have two other questions. All of the channels state that no data is available. Also, one of the channels appears not to be mapped to the card. I thought doing a remapping would have resolved this. TV Mapping shows the channel as mapped, but when I go to channels on the TV screen, all of the channels show a green icon except for the one that is not mapped, which is red. How do I resolve these two issues?

Edit: I think I can eventually figure out the WebEPG thing, although I don't know why, when I press "Grab now", no channels or programs are imported even though the TV Mapping list shows up. I still want to find out why a TV channel will show up as mapped in one place and not another.

Trying to get WebEPG installed and working. I am following the setting up of WebEPG described here. I downloaded a replacement file and installed it as directed. The instructions then say to run WebEPG-conf.exe. Where is this file? If it is the WebEPG.exe file, that gives me an error. I have searched the documentation describing this file but have yet to find where it is located.

Pilehave, I tried that one. When I ran "Grab now" It finished without any channels or programs imported. Further down, under Troubleshooting it says to make certain there is a tvguide.xml file in the xmltv folder. I was never able to find this folder. There isn't any data folder in the MP application folder that it is supposed to be found under. Bottom line, I am at a loss as to what to do next. But thanks, anyway.

TVguide.xml isn't created until the grab is done (that is, if you selected "tvguide.xml file configured in XmlTv Importer plugin" under "Write programs to").

When it IS created, the default XML-folder is C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\xmltv

There should be a "xmltv.dtd" file and a "ReadMe.txt"
When the grab is done, there should be a "TVguide.xml" as well.

Did you enable the XmlTv plugin in TV-Server as well?

Did you map your channels correctly (WebEPG -> TV Mappings)

Thank you, pilehave, for your advice on what to do to obtain a tvguide. The files you described were not located where you said. I finally found them in another location (C:\Documants and Settings\All User.WINDOWS\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\Media
Portal Tv Server\xmltv. I was able to create tvguide.xml by manually mapping several local channels and grabbing them. Problem is, when I go into MP TV I still get no data found for those channels I mapped and grabbed. So that is where I am at right now.
