Been having a lot of trouble with TV Series, and was hoping that an upgrade to the new version would help - obviously it hasn't or I wouldn't be posting:confused:.

I previously reported the issue here
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-tvseries-162/tv-series-crashes-mediaportal-config-81966/

The long and the short of it is TV Series crashes MP. When I enable TV Series, MP will crash immediately on displaying the MP GUI.

If I Disable TV Series, MP opens correctly

If I delete TV Series database and rescan, then enable TV Series, MP will work for a while (Maybe hours maybe a day or so). This is reproducable, it may take a while but crash it will, and in the end I can either delete the TV Series database and rescan or disable TV series altogether in order to open MP

I am using latest version of TV Series.

I have attached two sets of logs, one using debug method (Which I believe disables TV Series), then one where the system crashes on MP Startup - with TV Series enabled.

I suspect mediainfo.dll, but as the new TV series uses v 7.34, I could be wrong.

    Hope someone can help

Well, its definitely a crash in MediaPortal/MediaInfo. Seems like it maybe occuring when trying to read the MediaInfo for: Masterpiece Theatre - 37x06 - Mansfield Park.mpg

Can can try to play 'Masterpiece Theatre - 37x06 - Mansfield Park.mpg' in MyVideos section of MediaPortal. MediaPortal will attempt to read the MediaInfo for this file and will log it. Please attach the log of the result.

Note: MP-TVseries does not include MediaInfo.dll it just re-uses the one from MediaPortal which is 0.74 in MP 1.1.0. However it does use its own implementation to scan the mediainfo but I dont think its much different to how mediaportal does it.

Thanks will have a look when I'm home. Suspicion now is maybe .mpg is not listed as a valid extension, though I wouldn't have thought it would crash the system, as I could have anything in the watch folder. Damn chick-flick anyhow.

    Thanks for looking.

    Hi!

I´ve got the same problem. Using MP 1.1.0 and latest MP-TV Series. If I enable an online data request to update my tv-series information and thumbnails and I make a fanart download at the same time, MP crashes after a few seconds. For the rest I´ve got no problems with MP-TV Series.

    Regards

    OK quick update from home

Delete offending file "Northanger Abbey" from watch folder.

after an hour or so - no TV Series crashes.

File was an MPG, one of only 3 in the watch folder.

File was recorded by MP, back in the day when mpg was a recording option (I think)

    File was huge 4.8Gb

File only started creating problems in the last couple of months, but has been there for over two years.

Hope these details help someone else, will keep monitoring

Thanks again for the work so far
