TV-Server cannot be started (1 Viewer)

Then at least we know it's both on Vista and XP the problem happens. Hope there is an easy solution for this, I was really looking forward to this release.

Btw: Good job by the devs on the New installer, really nice and simple. I know alot of people who have had trouble and given up on the tvserver because of the installation hazzle, so this seems to be a giant step forward.

same problem here with winxp

i found out there is now tvserver service in services, so i can't start it manually

the question is :
what is running on 127.0.0.1:31456
sql-server ? should be the only thing that the tv-server needs to start ...?


Edit :
Port TCP 31456 is used for remote-controlling the tvserver

I got the same screen in Vista. "No connection could be made because the target machine already refused it 127.0.0.1:31456"

Luckily my girlfriend is playing Sims2 right now and hasn't noticed anything. Hope I won't have to tell her :p

Would be nice to know if someone from the Dev team has noticed this and is looking in to it...

    Could you please check if you have a service called "TvService" ?

    I don't have the service listed if i go into Services.msc - So it would seem it hasn't properly installed the service?

    no tv service.
    Is there a way to manually add the tv service ?
