Programmed a recording for yesterday night using the EPG. Starting time was 22:15 and end-time about 23:15. TV-Server didn't stop that recording resulting in a 37Gig MPEG file. I had to kill the recording by manually stopping TV-Server
Fing the logs attached as zip-file

sadly the logs do not contain the time where the recording was done. :(

maybe you can try to catch the logs right after it happened again. :)

i think this can be the same problem reported here:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...mp-doesn-t-record-scheduled-recordings-34089/

this problem exists now since mid of january... and was not fixed! this is VERY annoying because since this date i (and other users) was not able to record a programmed movie in the background while listening music or doing nothing.

the only thing i found out is that the problem was related to the idle epg grabber. when i turn it off, recording works.
but then my epg is VERY incomplete...

in the log files is absolutely NOTHING logged that points toward this problem.

please, devs take a look at this thing!

    :D

sorry, but how is "MP does NOT record scheduled recordings" related to "TV-Server does not STOP scheduled recording".

    maybe you can explain. ;)

I have the same problem ..
it did however record another show earlier without a problem and stopped at the appropiate time..

Yesterday evening there was A1GP show.. late in the evening.. i scheduled this show since it was to late for me to watch ..
and this morning i checked my tvserver (server setup with streaming clients) and it was still recording..
    40 gb TS file..
however.. can not attach the logfiles since my Boot partition was 0 bytes free because the logfile was 35 GB and I had to delete it

what I did notice was that I watched the beginning of the show on a streaming client, and wanted to shut down mediaportal .. but ALT-F4 was not accepted.. it kept on showing the red dot that it was recording.. had to go into the menu and choose the X (with mouse) to exit mediaportal .. which did work ..
Since I use tvserver as a seperate server on another machine which should be able to handle recording standalone.. why am i not allowed to shut down mediaportal when the server is recording, thats weird :)

Maybe related to the following (since it could be occuring when the show is recording and that might bring unexpected results as not able to stop recording ):
also .. i did fix my no audio/video problem by setting another drive/folder for timeshift, it keeps coming back after 20 hours or so .. and there is no other way then to reboot my tvserver and everything works fine for another 20 hours..
I hope this info helps a bit..

I understand, but it doesnt help either to upload 35 gb logfiles ;)
There arent much readers able to actually view this large logs

I am already trying to simulate the problem and stopping it before the logfiles grows out of control , and ofcourse I will post them here in a more reasonable size !

yes. .. it took up all my space on system drive.. so had no other choice then to delete it
the recording itself (on another drive) was 40 gb TS

Use MPTestTool from the Start menu to test and access logs needed.

Then use the advanced + feature to upload, thes logs should be Kb's in size.
