The server software binds itself to listen on the IP address that is assigned to your ethernet/wireless adapter. If your computer receives a new IP address when it wakes up then the server software (I'm thinking particularly of MySQL and TV Server) will get all confused because the IP address they were bound to no longer exists.</blockquote>
