Having read different threads on this subject, I haven't found any solution to my problem.
I have installed the TV server on my desktop PC, and while testing on a client laptop, I noticed freezing of TV channels.
To exclude EPG interference, I disabled EPG completely. This didn't solve the problem, but it seemed to prevent the TV service from completely locking up (requiring and "end process").
I narrowed the problem down to the TV server, noticing that when I start a timeshift in manual control, everything seems to go well for a random amount of time (signal level and signal quality > 80), after which the signal level and quality fall to values < 5, coinciding with the freezing of the image (the timeshift buffer file stops at that point).
The log shows nothing peculiar at first sight, everything seems normal up to the point where my manual stopping of the timeshifting is logged.
When I watch the same channels on a different program (like DVBdream for instance), everything works well, which seems to exclude hardware or driver problems with my DVB-S2 card. I can watch live TV for hours via other software, on any channel.

Since the problem exists on the TV server and time shifting, is it safe to conclude that this is not a codec issue ? I can't seem to change any codec settings on the TV server anway... I figured that by using the timeshift I could exclude video card and codec problems ?

I also checked my event log for errors and warnings, but found nothing on the exact time of freezing.
There's ample disk space and RAM.

After several evenings of trying to find a solution, I'm getting pretty desperate and frustrated.
TV server log is in attachment, the last entries describe the latest freezing. I waited several minutes after the freeze before stopping the timeshift, to distinguish that event from other possible events in the log.

Thanks for any help or input,

Phaedra

Looking a bit further, I noticed that I do get an event in the eventviewer at exactly the same time as the freezing.
It is not an error or a warning, but an "info" event (that's why I didn't see it at first). It says that the "multimedia class scheduler service has entererd the running state".
I bit of investigating about this service showed that it has a network throttling feature that could cause multimedia stuttering.
I will try to disable this throttling tonight and have another try to see if it changes anything to the phenomenon I'm experiencing.

The situation so far :
- I have changed the network throttling parameter of the multimedia class scheduler service : no solution
- I disabled the multimedia class scheduler service alltogether : no solution
- Just to be sure, I installed the latest video card driver : no solution

In the event log, I can see entries about the error reporting service starting at the exact time of the tv freeze. I can not find any error info so far...any hints anyone ?

I am starting to wonder whether anyone is actually reading this ?
Did I forget to include some information ?
I included the tv server log, the error log is empty, I can not find any error events in the windows event log...is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot this problem ?
I am reaching the limits of my imagination (and patience), I have done my best to look for answers, I don't know what to do anymore.

When does it freeze, on channel change, watching,...?
I saw this "start subch:0 No PMT received. Timeshifting failed" in your tv log, does this happens many times?

Thanks for the reply....
This happens at random times, but very frequent.
When I start the TV server, select a channel in manual control, and start timeshift manually, it takes on average 1 - 2 minutes before this happens, without me changing channels or whatever.

I tried another thing, started the mediaportal client on the same machine, in debug mode, and I attached the logs zip file, which shows a lot of different messages that I couldn't see in my simpler tests described above.
Maybe those are more helpful ?

Thanks for any help,

Phaedra

P.S. I also did a re-scan of all channels before I did the debug run.

This happens even without a client being installed or running, because I see it happen when only the TV server is running.
I re-installed the TV server, and the clients, several times, with the same result.
How can I correct this situation, the missing filter ?

I have the same problem with TV server freezing.
Often it takes half an hour, but other times just a couple of minutes before the picture freezes up.

Have you read this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...stuttering-corrupted-streaming-live-tv-91214/)
I have tried to replace with miroslav22's files, but I still have the same problem with the TV server.
My logs also shows nothing particular. I haven't had the time to dig deep into this problem, but it is really a show-stopper.
The wife isn't very impressed with MP for the time being. Especially when she wants to watch a recorded show, and it turns out that the end is missing........

I really hope someone can fix this problem. I think the problem came with the 1.1.1 version.

i was about to suggest you to disable all epg services but then i realised that u already did it.

I have same Tv card and i m using it with 2.0.0.14 drivers without a problem.
Do u have only 1 LNB?

No, I have 3 LNBs and Diseqc switch.
I should also add that on my dual-tuner card, for the time being I disabled the second tuner because there is no cable connected, nor is there a terminator cap on its input. Does that make any difference ?
