I just discovered this great plugin, thank you for your work!
There are a few questions for which I could not find the answer:
1) I successfully have created a few queries but now with a new one, I get no results whatever I do (part/exact title, repeated episodes true/false, no specific timeframe) I search for 'gear' on all channels and it should return 'Top Gear' and 'Fifth/5th Gear' on BBC and Discovery Channel but no luck. Is there an interval in which you can do searches? I have configured the server plugin to search every morning, just after the EPG update.
2) My EPG has data for 2 weeks. What if a scheduling is created and there is a change in the EPG afterwards, let's say the timing changes? Is that corrected automatically by running the query daily?
3) Is there a way to change the text/naming of the plugin in the home screen?
4) It happened a few times that after creating queries and I closed MP, it crashed and the queries where gone. Afterwards I recreated them one by one and closed MP every time and didn't have any crashes.
Of course I saved on both screens but no luck so is there some way to export or some other way to make sure that queries are not lost?
Hi Peter2,
1) to follow this issue I would need a log file TvWishList.log (see the first post for more details on where to find the log file).
2) If the time is changing the plugin will search for the closest program with the same title.
3) no, but this is something I can change in the future
4) You can use my BackupSettings plugin to back up all your settings (including TvWishList) or you can do -> more -> export for only backing up your Tv wishes (it is better described in the manual)
To follow this up I would need a log file here, too. It could happen if you loose the connection to the Tv server.
Hi
Ah,
2) if the title changes but not the time (eg 'agatha Christies Poirot' becomes just 'Poirot') will it remove the old one and replace it, or will it leave the old one and add another? This could explain a couple of my duplicates.
Cheers
Ben
Ben,
it will remove the old EPG entry and schedule the new one. I believe your duplicates were due to older versions with bugs. I am working right now on another update with some minor fixes.
Thanks for your replies huha.
I have the same problem as Ben: double recordings with a slight time-difference.
This has happened before when I manually scheduled recordings a long time ahead and because the timing changed and that block is not red anymore, I rescheduled that program.
Now that the scheduling is automated it happened again in that short timeframe.
I will get back to you with that log, for now I can say that I had noticed that the numbers behind the queries didn't increase and then suddenly - think it was after a restart of MP or the system - multiple numbers suddenly changed.
Hi
I've just used backup settings to reinstall mepo. When i re-import the settings, wishes are not all there. Only one has been imported. Are the wishes stored in the file called Tvwishes.txt in program data? I have that file from the export process, so hopefully i can get them back in somehow.
I am a bit confused though because i just tried adding a couple more after the one that imported and closing tv server settings, none of the files in the directory were modified. So I guess it doesn't store them there?
Ben
foxbenw,
backupsettings does store the tvwishes within <backup folder>\TV_USER\Tvsettings.xml
Check for <Setting TvWishList_ListView=
and all following entries with a number (e.g. <Setting TvWishList_ListView_001=)
They are only stored by the TvWishList MP plugin in programdata at Tvwishes.txt if you do an export. This can then be imported with the plugin again.
huha
It is only importing the first wish. Here is an example (tvsettings.xml):
<Setting TvWishList_ListView="True;(title="Smallville" ) AND (seriesNum >8);Expression;HD;All;Both;;0;7;10;;;;;All;Always;Any;0;Any;Any;Any;Any;Any;True;Smallville >S8 HD;None;Any;0;48;0;0;0;0
True;test1;Partial Title;All Channels;All;Both;;0;7;10;;;;;All;Always;Any;0;Any;Any;Any;Any;Any;True;test1;None;Any;0;72;0;0;0;0
True;test 2;Partial Title;All Channels;All;Both;;0;7;10;;;;;All;Always;Any;0;Any;Any;Any;Any;Any;True;test 2;None;Any;0;73;0;0;0;0
" />
Do i have an old version of backup or is there something wrong?
In the tv.log when i re-imported, it looks like this:
