TV Server Plugin: TvWishList (1 Viewer)

Hi Huha, I suddenly find myself using this plugin a lot more now I can use it from my client while sitting on the couch and it is very close to perfect for my needs.

Ok so let me explain the View Only Mode suggestion:

There are a list of shows returned from a search. I select a show and the option menu opens. I select option "Create TV Wish" and a new wish is added to the Record and Email Mode using the show name and channel.

mabdk, you can set the default settings for a new wish in the MP plugin configuration in expert settings. Change the combobox on the second tab to channelgroup and enter the group you want (described in the manual)

The manual you refer to, where can i find this ?
If i click help in your plug-in, I'm taken to the media portal wiki, but here i can find no info about TV-WhishList?

Configuration settings are per client. What I do is copy the config file "tvwishlist.xml" to each client. It's at this location on my Win7 PC: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal. (note for others, will likely only work with v1.2.2.6 onwards)

Just have a feature suggestion:
Let the client config file be allowed to be moved to a network share ?
this way if i make change in one client i don't have to remember to move the file or do the same changes on the other clients.

Some suggestions....
Sometimes I need to catch a few missed episodes of a series. I can set up a new wish and set the series and episode that I want (great). An option to clone a wish would be a useful starting point for this.

Testversion 1.2.2.7 released
Attached I am releasing the next test version, which is planned to become the official next release if no major issues are showing up next week.
The following changes are included from the last official release:
1.2.2.7:
– another bug fix in locking plugin for tvserver configuration
– bugfix in processing episodes (foxbenw)
– version.txt no more written, but used via tv server
– no more write access required to the tvserver from a remote client (named pipes)
– epg change done via filewatcher (no more stopping of tvserver)
– fixed skin bug: cannot move left from playlist
– play command substituted by “0” key on remote for selecting results of single tv wish
– added new streamed mp skin from pog
– fixed configuration bug for formats with <br> in MP config

Update: i am not able to upload the file today.
Update2: Since I installed Chrome, i cannot upload a file with firefox anymore

At this time i do ask you for language translations into other languages.
It is quite simple, just open the file
C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\language\TvWishListMP\strings_en.xml
and copy it to a new name with your language.
Then just translate the area between string e.g.
<String id="1100">View Only Mode</String>
into
<String id="1100">Anschau Modus</String>
Do not change any comments from English outside the string. When done please upload your file into this post.


Without making any promises I noted the following fetaure requests:
- create tvwish from epg data (difficult)
- clone tvwish (easy)
- create tvwish from "view results" menu in email or view only mode (easy)

I have made a skin mod that sends skin properties (ie. #TV.Guide.Title) to other plugins by using <hyperlinkParameter> to open a plugin with a parameter. For use by TvWishList this would allow a user to highlight a program in the TV Guide, press the INFO context menu and select Create TV Wish then using the skin to send the show name to the plugin via <hyperlinkParameter>.

Whenever you want to have a go at this I can help with skin mods.

I have multiseat configuration, but Client try connect to own IP address (10.0.0.11) not to Server address (10.0.0.10):

Hi huha. I've been watching this thread for a while and thought it was time to give TvWishList a try with all recent improvements, but i can't get it to work
I'm getting the same error as JiRo.

Unfortunatly i've tried rebooting and disabling firewalls on both my client & server but still the same error. Haven't been able to find a configuration file where i could check the IP adress, so i assume it tries to connect to itself (10.0.0.101 = client IP).

Any thoughts/ideas?

I would also like to suggest to include a .zip package with the files, since a dedicated TV Server install (without client part) doesn't have does the MediaPortal Extension Installer installed (and probably not all users know that you can open up a .mpei package with 7zip)

OK, after the 3rd reinstall of the plugin on the Server, it seems to work now. Now i also have the FileRenameXML.xml file on server and some schedules are being planned
No it's time to figure out why i got about 20 emails about conflicts...

where can i enter the TV Server ip? The Mp Plugin tries always to connect to his own ip

€ i guess its working, installed the latest version also on the server (had an older version)
€2 10 min test, works perfekt, MP Client Plugin and TV Server Synch was nice. Just saw a small thing but not sure if i made something wrong - in the Client Plugin i made a new Wish called "test", in the 2nd menu i typed in the name of this test - search for "simpsons" BUT its still searching for "test" - i have to delete my first try and make another one - no chance to edit it afterwards
