elliotmc,

I thought I would address this comment to you as you're clearly part of the MP development team. This plugin is - in my view - clearly superior to the scheduling capabilities currently in MP. Is there a way of proposing some kind of vote to get TvWishListMP to become a full part of the MP install kit to replace the current recording capability? It has so much more flexibility and handles multiple showings in a much better way. Are there any other users reading this thread who agree with me?

I also have a question for you (and anyone else in the UK reading this thread) about the UK Radio Times grabber in WebEPG. As far as I can see it does not appear to pull down the data field in the channel.dat file (from RadioTimes.com) that contains the true/false entry for whether the programme is a repeat (unfortunately neither does the XMLTVGUI program from Alan Birtles, otherwise I could just use XMLTV instead). This is the one feature that is built in to the plugin that I would love to use - but it needs to have the repeat field in the EPG to do it.

Have I missed something in the WebEPG configuration? I realise that this question should perhaps have been posted in the EPG Grabbers section - but as you are a user of this plugin (or at the very least a thorough tester of it) you might be able to answer more quickly!

Again, thanks to huha for producing this - it's great.

Personally I think that the normal MediaPortal way is the quickest/easiest, but there is also a need for TvWishList. The team have recently been discussing a rule-based scheduler, so something is definitely in the pipeline, but I have no idea how long this will take.

Personally I don't use WebEPG, so I cannot help.

    chrik,
go to the tvserverplugin -> formats and click delete message file.
This will be adressed for the next version by a better way

wjw, thanks for the log file. i will look into it.

Thx that solved the problem temporary, but looking forward for an easy way to do this from the plugin inside MP :).

I have another question: I have had trouble searching for at least one show is tvwishlist case sensitive in the title etc. searching?

Thx so far for your work.

    elliottmc,
looking at your log file i found
2011-10-04 23:40:59.998800 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: TvVersion Version 1.2.0.16 does not match MpVersion Version 1.2.0.17 -Aborting plugin
Your tvserver version file showed 1.2.0.16. I suspect there is a mismatch in your MP configuration. Please check that in the TvwishListMP configuration the pathname is correct for the Tvserver directory. Does it show to an older folder which contains an old version.txt?

Your second log file showed a pathname C:\Version.txt.
I would expect this file at C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TvWishList

chrik, Tvwishlist is using the SQL database search and i believe this is not case sensitive.

    Hi
Having now used the plugin for a week or two I have a couple of early thoughts you may like to consider.
1 - make the dup rules 'per schedule' rather than global.
2 - add channel group to the dup checks. Then I can replace sd shows with hd shows as they come on.
(alternatively each relevant field could have a checkbox next to it to say 'include in duplicate search' when setting up the schedule/rule.)

Sorry if these are old ideas, and I appreciate that not everyone will want things getting more complicated. I'm sure i will survive without either!

    Hi,

Yes for some reason all of the configuration, including the programs I had set to be watched for on the server, had been lost. I have no idea when this happened. All working again now, thanks!

Incidentally, for the plugin, I see that every time you exit, you are notified that changes have been saved. Since there is no option to NOT save changes, this dialog is just a reminder, and seems redundant. Perhaps it should not be shown.

Something else I note in the installer. There is a path for the TV server data directory shown, even on a client computer for me. I don't know whether I should configure this to the data directory on the server.

This is a great plugin, but I've got to be honest. I think all communication to the TV server (at least from the MediaPortal client plugin side) needs to be through the database, so that all it needs is the name of the server. Needing to configure paths for the user configuration folder on a network client feels as though it should not be needed.

Hopefully you will consider all of this to be constructive rather than critical. Now I've discovered this plugin, I would not want to be without it.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

foxbenw, i am not understanding your first item, as the skip box can be checked individually for each tvwish. Your second item to have a preferred group is a great idea. I will think about that in the future.
elliottmc, thanks to your logs i found a situation where there could be a data integrity problem if the user specifies different locations for the tv plugin and the configuration path of tvWishListMP. To avoid that I will move the tvserver messages also to the database. If someone knows how to send a string message from the MP plugin to a Tvserver plugin I could completely eliminate the file configuration.
The last version did not have a complete save for each situation (I am fixing that right now), so it is recommended for users always to save before exiting MP. If you do not like the save window information you can disable it in the MP configuration.
In the installer it is your choice if you configure it to the host computer (but only if you have write access) or you are doing two separate installations on the host and client.
The installer will only install a plugin, if there is a valid path found or specified by the user.

    Greetings, huha

    AW: TV Server Plugin: TvWishList

    Hi huha,
i think you have changed the behaviour of "After time" and "Before time" that only the start time of the schedule is checked. The manual describe this still as the endtime have to be less then the "Before time".

AW: Re: TV Server Plugin: TvWishList

    ...

The UseFolder has not been deleted, but has been changed. There is a drop down box under the second name (should be" use folder" in the tv server plugin with the options
    - None (no folder)
    - Episode (this is the old All Episodes recording option and will use the MP episode folder and episode management
    - Name (this will use a folder from the name and move the movies in)
Check the manual for more details
    ...
OL1973, please try like Hungriger Hugo the Use Folder = Episode option, as this does activate the MP Episode Mnagement...

    Hello huha,

thank`s for your help / information. Take the "Episode" as folder an all is fine
    It was my fault.
