The screensaver option works at the client side only. It wil not affect anything else. Recordings run as tasks under tvservice, whose performance is not subject to any settings defined at the client side.

Just a question:

Do you have other HDDs in your system who are subject to power management?
I observed at my system that spin-ups of other HDDs causes the recordings to have at this time period continuity errors.
My guess is that either video-buffer is to small or (more likely) it is an OS issue which you can observe in daily work.
i.e. Windows stops briefly during HDD Spin Up

To avoid you have to disable HDD power-down/standby in Energy Settings

Yes, I have several HDD in the system, but if they give a glitch when spinning up or down is not much of an issue I think.
I did try to record without avtive front-end and without power-saving options active: same result as before. But since it is only to change the senning to never stop the frontend, I can lile with it. Could be worth mentioning in the documentation though.
