Up to 45% CPU and 87MB of memory without EPG running. :(

When I tried to watch the TV the video was very "stuttery" as was the audio (but less so). I tried BBC 1 and BBC 3. The logs were full of retuning requests and "no signal lock" messages (for a recording schedule I had).

I stopped and restarted the service then the TV was OK. The log had a lot of "freeing subchannel" messages in it.

    Same for me :(

I thought my problems were gone, but I had 50% CPU and 500MB tvservice.exe and a lot of this:

Can both of you try something, turn off cool'n'quiet in the bios and see if any difference, know Dodgy Bob's specs, but do not know yours hippo.

Not using satellite, only DVB-T. Disabling cool 'n' quiet hasn't worked :(

Thanks for your time PD, I'll just wait until 1.0.0.1 and then do a complete re-install.

Cannot say you have not tried, but if only dvb-t then cpu should definately vary between 0-2%, I do not have grab epg whilst timeshifting enabled, thats the only thing, other than that, I also delete all unused channels, so that gets me from 60 channels down to 34, but still never noticed any higher cpu with the 60 channels.

if you want to see what the tvserver is doing in windows itself (dot in systray saying status, idle, epg grabbing or recording) try and-81's TVServer Monitor.

It's best to have it as a delayed start or it cannot connect to TVServer.

Did a clean uninstall of MP and TV server, rebooted PC, re-installed 1.0.0.0 and latest SVN.

At first CPU never spiked above 10% and was usually at 0-2%. Memory started at 23MB, rose to 38MB at one point but always returned to 23MB. I was very hopeful. Everything working and looking good. Left it overnight.

This morning, CPU 98% and memory something-ridiculous-MB :( I could cry.

So, possible incompatability with the BlackGold card or its drivers? Re-install of Vista needed (hope not!). Something else running causing a problem (only had emule, winsshd and VNC server running I think)?

Right, so, had to move HTPC this weekend because of building work. Meant it was on the same aerial only shorter with one less connection in it, obviously gave a better signal. And this seems to have sorted it.

Since the move TV service has been steady at 0-2% CPU. So it seems the problems were to do with signal strength.
