Hello,

Everything will work fine when I first boot up, but when I let MediaPortal idle for a few hours on the home screen the TV will not respond. Every other aspect will work fine (Videos, DVD's, etc) but the TV will freeze up the mediaportal.

I try to restart the TV Service, but I get an error saying it is unable to stop the service.

If I reboot the system all works fine again.

PS: My machine is not set to go on standby, the monitor only turns off.

Thanks, it happenned again yesterday evening, i've attached the logs.

I think it has to do with this though:

Very odd as your logs contain NO server logs.

Was the server on a network and this log is from a client machine?

I also see you are using RC1, have you updated to a later SVN as there have been a lot of bug fixes.

Thanks for the response.

I haven't updated to the latest svn essentially because i read some complaints about the June 27th release and I know it's a "at your own risk" kind of thing.

The machine has the TV service running, I think I know what happenned. I was experimenting with the watchdog and deleted all of the logs and pressed the "compile logs" button. I realized at that instant that I was overwriting the ones I wanted to send so i tried to make a copy before the files get overwritten. I guess i didn't do it in time.

I'll wait for this to happen again and not fool around with the watchdog... better yet I'll update to the latest SVN I guess and take it from there.

Hi,

I installed the latest SVN and tried it again. It failed again after about 12 hours of idling.

Here are the bigger and better logs.

Essentialy today at around 7 AM (July 9th) I quickly tested it and it worked fine.

I stopped the TV and it was sitting on the "Basic home" up until around 10:30 PM when I tried to watch TV.

Also, I had scheduled a recording at 8pm, but it never recorded it so chances are it stopped working prior to that.

I restarted the PC and everything works fine.

Try a long test with the 'idle epg grabber' dissabled and see if this stops the failure .

when EPG while idle is disabled it seems to be working properly.

I really prefer having it enabled though, is this bug reintroduced?

I got the same issue, although only common thing in our systems is the DVB EPG. So I think it is a bug in TVServer.
