TV Service stops running intermittently (2 Viewers)

every now and then my tvservice stops running - there is no system crash, just a message that connection to tv server lost...

If I restart the tv service in control panel, or reboot the pc then all is ok.

The tv service can run for anything from a few minutes to hours or days before it stops. Is there a log that will give a reason for it stopping, or any way to have something that looks for it and if it stops then just restart it automatically?

Automatic restart of the tvservice:
Go to the "services" - type services.msc into the run dialog!
At the services find the tvservice entry.
Right click porperties and the 3rd tab is something lik recovery ...
In this tab you can set an automatic restart after crash.

Start Menu, there is a link for logs collector, use the bottom button to create and then upload rared file using the forums advanced + feature.

Connection to TV Service Lost

I also have the same problem as bob808.
My "Connection to TV Service" was lost about 6 times yesterday evening.
To recover I just have to go to the main menu (TV/RADIO/WEATHER etc...) and go back into TV (after a couple of seconds) - the picture returns and everything carries on for another few hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) until it happens again.
I've attached my logs and a screenshot of what it looks like when the connection is lost !

I have the "TV Service" set to restart in services.msc
Is there any explanation why MediaPortal keeps losing the connection to the TV Service though ?
It can be quite annoying when it happens several times in an evening. (it's especially annoying when the other half complains about it!)

It happens when the LAN connection is lost (WIFI signal which is weak for instance).
I have EXACTLY the same issue and it is pretty annoying

Does someone has a solution ?

Exactly the same problem with WLAN, but i solved it.

Use the Microsoft Loopback Device!
