I have been watching & using the TV through Mediaportal without any issues.

Then a few days ago I took out my old GeForce 260GTX graphics card and replaced it with a shiny GTX 970 and installed the latest drivers. (I have Windows 8.1 and MediaPortal 1.12.0 if that affects anything).

Now I can't watch TV. One of two things happens depending on what channel is selected.
1) A longer than normal delay after I click to watch TV. Then sound starts up but there is no video.
2) The channel loads at normal speed, and I get sound and video.... for about 0.5 seconds, then they both stop.

The logs attached show scenario 1 followed by scenario 2.

I have tried changing the codecs around but to no avail. Can anyone help please?

Your TV server TsWriter log is full of Continuity errors, indicating TV reception problems:

Either you disturbed something to do with the tuner card when you installed the video card, or the new video card drivers are causing problems for the tuner card/MP TV server, or possibly you might be having power supply or motherboard compatibility problems with the new video card.

I'd carefully check that everything (cards, disks, USB devices etc.) is plugged in properly....

Thanks for interpreting all those continuity errors for me. I saw them but didn't know what to make of them.

It won't be power issues considering my good CPU and the fact that the new graphics card uses less power than the old one. Doubt it's motherboard issues either as it's < 18 months old. If it's any hardware thing it'll be the TV tuner I think, it's a little older. Based on your post I will try the following things in order and report back on my results.
    1) Check cables
    2) Open PC up, take TV card out & in again (was hoping I wouldn't have to do this but hey ho)
    3) Research TV card - are there new drivers etc?
    4) Fiddle with graphics drivers

The other possibility is of course that electrical (radio) interference from the new video card is directly interfering with reception at the tuner card inputs.
