Re: Got a fix...

I was using the onboard video -- problem is the BIOS defaults to only use 64M. Go ino the bios, change to use 128M and hopefully that will sort your problem.

Oh joy -- it worked last night -- Im sure it did. Today I have the same problem. Seriously jerky when using the flyDVB-T tuner. Ive not tried the DVB-S one yet to see if I have the same problem. I will do that in the next couple of days. Its really wierd though. Just like the original post from AkA, DVD playback etc works fine.

Hi !

My System:

MSI K8NGM2 - FID
Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT

I also had these problems, but since the last CVS and deinstalling the NVIDIA PureVideo codecs, they are gone.

Instead of the NVidia codecs, i now use the Cyberlink PowerDVD codecs from the Pro version. I think that solved my problems.

Another Tip ! Be sure to raise the 'CPU TO NB FREQ' in your Bios to at least 800 MHz.

Here is a good thread about the motherboard http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=29&threadid=1803985

Ran at 1 GHz and no difference. :(

However, tried out my TT DVB-S card and it all worked a treat :) No stutter, recorded OK. Interestingly when the DVB-T card was stuttering, the HD was being accessed. With the DVB-S card there is no hint of it being accessed [unless recording].

Regards

My stuttering is back... o' i missed it... but it came back when i tried the nvidia codec !
And now switching the channels is also very lame, interrupted only by sequential disc access.

GREAT... Grrrr...

I started to get this stutterng again with the ASUS board, I tried an SATA 3112 PCI board which I had lying around and since my HDD has been connected via this (i.e. not using the onboard nvidia sata controller) mine has been working fine.

Having said that I did originally notice that my HDD light was constantly flashing using the nvidia sata which is why I decided to try this, I'm convinced that my stuttering was caused by the sata contoller.

Hi everybody,

For me, i haven't the stutter problem at all. I fix it with adding more RAM, from 512 to 1 ghz. I don't know why the tv stuttering with 512 but i've notice that if i swith to 128Mo of ram for the graphic card in bios, the nvidia drivers says that 256 Mo is available for it. Strange.

So, adding 512 of ram solve the problem for me. Be aware that you must put the ram in bank 1 et 2 for enable the dual channel mode. May be the mobo had some issues using 1 ram slot.

Try it, i hope it will fix your problem to.

AkA/Robomonkey -- thanks for returning and posting your solutions.

I can use my DVB-S card with only an occasional stutter. The flyDVB-T is the one with real problems. As I have the same mobo as AkA, I'm going to try adding memory to utilise the dual-channel and see what that does.

Thanks again.

Stuttering solved by changing PCi Latency Timer

I followed a tip from the Hauppauge forum. I have a HVR-1300 dvb-t and they suggested to change PCI Letency Timer from 64 to 32. That stopped the stuttering for me. Ok, I still have a glitch every three minute but I can live with that for now.

A problem with stuttering TV (DVB) and radio could be caused by the soundcard. If a sound card does not support Direct Sound this can result in a stuttering TV / radio.
If a soundcard does not support direct sound you can see this in dxdiag in the sound tab. There it states "(emulated)".
