TV suddenly doesn't start anymore (1 Viewer)

Hello.


Something's wrong with my live TV, can't start it, even after multiple reboots and TV server service restarts. It just says it can't be started. Oh and the EPG is gone too (I get it via mc2xml and the tvguide.xml is up to date), if that is any help.

I included logs, hope someone can help me.

try to repair your datbase database

Open up a command prompt (as admin if Vista / Win7)
navigate to MySQL Bin folder (is C:\\Program Files\\MySQL\\MySQL Server 5.1\\bin for me) and enter

mysqlcheck --user=root --pass=MediaPortal --auto-repair MPTVDB

Not sure but MySQL can get issues if clients disconnect unexpectedly, standby, disk errors ....

Hi utokallegba,

this is no try to "highjack" your thread.
I had exactly the same problem with my MePo TV Service and opened a thread in the german support Forum.
But things are going a bit (too) slow there, so I searched the "offical" support Forum and found this thread.

In any case, I'll try the fix posted from jameson_uk in the evening. Hope it'll work.

Sorry if my english seams a bit rusty. Hadn't used it for a while :sorry:

You may want to try using MS SQL Server instead of MySQL. I have never had DB-errors with MS SQL, but I had them frequently with MySQL.

just be aware that MSSQL connection from MP doesn't support unicode, so if you have any unicode chars in EPG - then those won't be saved in DB
