    Yep, it sure is! I just discovered this today and couldn't wait to get home to try it. Works a treat, now all recorded programs have thumbnails.

    Thanks!

    Hey, just one question that you might be able to help me with, take a look at the attached screen shot. Aside from the eccentric array of shows recorded, can you tell me why the directory doesn't have a thumbnail? The individual shows further down the list do, but not the directories with mulitple shows.

    It's either a function of the skin or a function of mediaportal.

    In avallonis skin which I currently use when I highlight a folder with multiple recordings inside, it displays the info for the most recent recording inside that folder, this suggets that with some skin changes you could display the image of the most recent recording in a folder as the folder image.

    It's a change that I'd like to see happen in all skins, but havn't got around to trying to mod the recorded tv .xml yet.[DOUBLEPOST=1352101871][/DOUBLEPOST]just had a look @ avalon and default wide, and I have no idea what xml is used for my recordings.

    As you may have been able to tell I am using Avalon skin so I thought that the functionality would have been the same. So I wonder why mine is not displaying? So you are saying that the folder image is not seperate, but rather that it uses the latest file within the folder?

    No, all skins just display the folder image. In avalon it is a big X.

    I'm saying that it could potentially display a recording image for the folder, given that...etc... if you modded it.

    Wonder if it is a known bug? I will have a look on the Avalon forum to see if I can find anything.

    It's been a while since Avalon has been updated - all the development seems to be happening on Avallonis sadly.

    It's not a bug, all of the skins do it. However post an issue for enhancement request. Unfortunately I have a feeling avalon is not getting much attention as they are working on other skins now. Maybe they will add this to titan if you suggest it.

    Hi, thanks for pointing me at this, was something I questioned in the past so nice to see someone working on it :)

    I've installed and will test when I'm home, but I did try and update my current recordings and got some errors. Lots of this:

    Code:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
            at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
            at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source)

    Checking Program Files for java.exe

    and it was complaining it didn't create or move any thumbs because 'Access was denied'. It may be that I am using the machine using remote desktop though so will confirm tonight.

    Thanks for all the good work :)

    @blair_haynes

    This is what you are talking about right?
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/help-editing-mytvrecordedtv-xml.113602/

    @TheBatfink

    1. The java errors
    Yeah I think that is related to remote desktop.
    You might want to delete the stuff inside \Files\Don't Search Online For These Shows\ so that it will retry on any shows that it failed on previously

    2. Access denied
    The access denied part I think is windows preventing other programs from writing to the mp program data directory, I got this error once but I was able to reproduce it. I'm guessing your remote desktop login is not an administrator login? I'd really like to know if you still get the error if you login as administrator. Also if you don't login as administrator does the error go away if you install the program to c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\tv thumbnailer\ [use x86 if 64bit]. This kinda information is useful to me because I might just have to require all users to install into the mediaportal program folder.

    The script uses %programdata%\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\Thumbs\TV\Recorded as the target location for the thumbs, in your remote login maybe this directory is not available?

    I tested your latest release and it works great!

    I only got problems to get it work if I place it in: c:\program files (x86)\team mediaportal\mediaportal\tv thumbnailer\ - there seems to be a problem with the team mediaportal directory? Maybe the space between team and mediaportal is a problem?
    Does it work for you?
