Yup ffmpeg line helps a lot thanks, saved me using imagemagick.
I've almost got looking up the tv show on thetvdb sorted
so just need to make a start on doing the mtn copying part so I don't need a .bat file on remote clients.

    Hi there,

I had thought about progressing my MTN replacement further, but for me there isnt a real need:

    1) A lot of TV programs here in the UK arent in the TVDB
    2) For me recorded TV is a small part of MePo (and thumbnails of recorded TV is a trivial cosmetic thing)
    3) MePo doesnt always identify Season/Episode of programs
    4) Centralised thumbnailing/versus copying isnt a biggie - I perhaps have 20 recorded program at a time

I'm hoping the underlying code in MePo can be updated to use Windows internal thumbnailing (if on W7 or above), or fall back to use FFMpeg - MTN needs to go (its a dead project)

    BUT......

If you need any help with your stuff let me know :D

    J.

ps - I tried recompiling MTN to use an updated FFMpeg.... I gave up (above my knowledge)... I tried with VS and BCC... managed to locate the various missing files (albeit some maybe the wrong flavour) - but too many errors :(

Crap!! Good job you uploaded some of your stuff.

    Time for an undelete utility!

Try not to use the system....and use a file recovery tool to get the files back. Windows does not actually delete the data, it simply removes the pointers to the files from the allocation table, meaning the space can be used for new files. But an undelete utility will scan and find the underlying files and recreate the pointers to them.

    New Version

    1.3 ALPHA:
    - Added option to search online for tvshow images (Thank you @rednoah for his filebot scripts, requires JAVA)
    - Movie recordings currently not supported in online search, but may be added at a later date
    - Searching online requires java to be installed on the PC
    - Added option to choose between single screenshot or montage of 4 screenshots
    - Setup GUI improved, no editing config files in notepad

    Download:
    TV Thumbnailer ALPHA 1.3.ZIP

    Updating from a previous version:
Extract and overwrite existing files then run setup.cmd

    Note:
Setup.cmd incorrectly mentions there is a 20 second pause while download images from the net, actual waiting time is 8 seconds/thumb

    New Version
Huge improvements in this version, very close to final version.
After installing this you should drag your tv recording folder and drop it on top of tvThumbnailer to process all your old recordings.

    1.4 ALPHA:
    - Runs a lot faster
    - Better detection of Java installation
    - Detects when filebot has finished searching for images rather than set waiting period

    Download:
    TV Thumbnailer ALPHA 1.4.ZIP

    Updating from a previous version:
Delete old installation, extract to any location, run setup.cmd

    Enjoy

That's good, please let me know how you get on. 10 people have downloaded it, so I guess for most users it's running ok.
