Your lines from the log file seem to indicate that the grab file is working, this line.

WebEPG: Program Count (41), Listing Count (41), Discard Count (0)

above this line do you have: -

WebEPG: Getting sublinked data sucessful

If yes, then the grab file is working.

I had a similar problem where webepg would stop when performing a read, it was caused by symantec firewall.
If you use a firewall, try diabling and check if webepg works.

Hi Quake,

sorry looks like that i have posted the wrong stuff. It seems, that some channels are working fine. But others not. There i get timeouts during requesting. I find it in the error.log that some channels can´t ask at tv today.
Here my orginal grabber-file and this what i now use ( with your add-on ). I´m not sure what is causing the problem, but for example ZDF_neo can´t recieve anything. I don´t want to use tv-Info :(

Regards,
Daniel

Hello again,

I´ve got the same Issue as Jelmo. Here the error log:

2011-03-31 19:40:09.171875 [WebEPGImporter(7)]: HTMLPage: GetInternal error: Timeout für Vorgang überschritten
2011-03-31 19:40:09.171875 [WebEPGImporter(7)]: WebEPG: ChannelId: ard.de grabber error - stopping
2011-03-31 19:41:50.328125 [WebEPGImporter(7)]: HTMLPage: GetInternal error: Timeout für Vorgang überschritten
2011-03-31 19:41:50.328125 [WebEPGImporter(7)]: WebEPG: ChannelId: zdf.de grabber error - stopping

It says Timeout for activity exceeded...

This comes on all channels I try to grab....

And the difference between Version one and Version 2 ist this f#$%*ng line:

Code:
</div>

But Version 1 is also not working for me any more. Same error in the error.log

Hello guys,

I just called the Link that Jelmo has posted and I played arround with some channels.

What I could see, that there comes up a "popup" which "presses" the mainpage in background. - This is new - See screenshot.

Maybe we have to implement a "wait" for the advertisement? takes about 30 or 40 seconds. - After the adv. has reached the end, the mainpage appears again in the foreground. Maybe that´s the reason why webepg runs against the wall....

I had a look in the grabber-details in the Wiki and found that we can implement a
time in milliseconds to wait between each http request.
. Don´t know if that setting can fix the problem. Don´t think so, because AFTER the request has been made, then we have to wait until the advertisement has finished...

I will test it in the evening

I tested with the delay-option, but it didn´t help.

I tried it again with the Version 2 of Quake, then a lot of channels could be grabbed but also a lot not.

These couldn´t be grabbed:

It seems to happen randomly....

But for example DMAX or Kabel1 always do not work. I checked the config with the Webepg-Designer and it seems to be ok.

For Example DMAX compared with RTL the listing-sites are the same...

Strange that it works and does not work....

Hello again,

it randomly does not work. I´ve also set up a new mediaportal testsystem and tried to grab it. Even with a delay of 2000 ms it does not work.

One time it works, one time it does not work. Again I think the source seems to be the advertisement. - Sometimes it comes up, sometimes not...

And the websites are the same...

But I absolutely don´t know what else I could do to ship arround that....

Maybe already a "retry-function" could help. So that if the listing fails, webepg waits for a few seconds and then tries the channel again. But I think then there have to be done some changes in the application itself...

Me too, :( - partially

In the xmltv-forum there is an "new" tool called WebGrab++. I could see this tool can do retries if the first grab fails. - But it looks much more complex like webepg and it looks like it cannot handle sublinks....

I would appreciate if webepg would get some development-improvement...

AW: TV-Today Germany - Details are gone

Hello all,

so Webepg does not work anymore for TVToday. Absolut unstable and it really seems to crash because of these advertisements... - No retry - function so it has lost the game.

I found the Webgrab+Plus solution here in the forum. It is another EPG-Grabber which grabs EPG from the web.

It has more functions than Webepg and is also a little bit more complex.

WG++Maker, the developer - has created a grabber-ini file for us. If you´ve understood the syntax, it´s easy to implement for other sites - As TVinfo and so on...

I´ve tested the solution and it works really well. You can see that the app stops on some channels, because of the advertisement, but it retries the channel and can grab it then... - I´ve grabbed over 23 channels for 7 days in about 15 minutes:eek::eek::eek:

Really cool, because Webepg took about 1 1/2 hours to complete....

I will soon create a new post where I will describe the implementation and a little bit configuration so that you can easily implement it in your environment.

Again: I´m really satisfired with the grabber:cool:
