    Phew so I'm not alone... any help would be great. thats the same tuner card that I have

    Until MP solves the problem you can use Wintv8 for recording and watch the recordings in MP as a video.
    Been using it this way for the last couple of days, and it works perfect, the EPG in Wintv8 works fine.
    Just add the download folder for the recordings to your video folders.

    @pwh123
    My last recording was on the 29th at 17:20, as i remeber later that day it stoppet working complitly.
    Unfortunately your Windows application and system event log files start on the 30th, so there's a "window" of time during which the problem could have been introduced.

    One strange thing I've noticed that both of you have in common is Avast anti-virus. Strangely Avast components (aswSnx) are listed in the driver stack for your tuners:

    AFAIK that's not normal.

    Can you please try to temporarily stop/disable Avast, close/stop all Hauppauge WinTV software (including the Hauppauge TV service), restart the MediaPortal TV service (open TV Server Config, go to the "manual control" section, click "stop service"... then "start service"), then try to scan/tune with MediaPortal.

    I disabled avast and MP tvservice worked like normal again :)

    But what can be a god solution for that, i have tried to exclude the mediaportal folder in avast, that didn't help.
    Stop using AV software is not a solution for me, learned the hard way to use one.

    Sorry, I don't know. I've never used Avast.
    Can you try to configure it to trust MediaPortal TV Server (TVService.exe)?

    It was a bug in a recent Avast update.
    I forced Avast to update it's program (it downloaded quite a bit) and all is ok again.

    Many thanks for your assistance, i would never have solved the problem my self. Made a small donation for your effort :)
