I was watching on time shifted BBCHD and twice MP stopped playing back the tv, and exited to a black background Guide page . Any help please? I have atached the logs from the D&S folderApp Data for Media portal and TV Server.

I noticed the CPU is working at around 70% I have Core AVC as the decoder, i though this work rate would be lower, particularly with an ATi 3650

Hi,
If you have a 3650 try using the PDVD8 codec. I get about 7% cpu usage when watching BBC-HD....

I did no improvement. This is a fresh install of WinXP and PowerDVD 8 Ultra, etc etc...

Not sure how well these cards work with XP. I'm using Vista.....

Looking at the logs ... I am no expert, there is mention of DX9 errors. I am not too worried about the work rate of the CPU it isnt maxing anyway. I just want BBC HD not to stop after 20 minutes.

Any suggestions??

This appears to be happening with all TV Channels, since i went to RC2... could anyone in the know help me out please?

So now ALL TV channels cause a crash after a certain amount of time, even SD ones,

Consider your cpu use high, even considering CoreAVC is software decoder.
You say that even if using PDVD8 as codec you still get high cpu usage, this sounds more like a system wide problem, and could well be down to the ATI driver.

Would suggest uninstalling ATI driver, running driver sweeper and then reinstalling latest non beta version.

Thanks for the nod, I'll give that a try. I need to update my profile the drivers I am using are the 8.7 ones. This is a clean install.
Do the logs I attached show any errors?

Lot's all seem directx based, thats why it sounds more like something outside MP causing the problem, nearly always driver\codec related.
