Hi,

i think i am not clever enougth to setup TV-Server and Client in Singelseat and TV with AC3 Audio. When i uninstall TV-Server and use Mediaportal without TV-Server my Favorite Channels work with AC3 (they real stream out AC3) but when i install TV Server i dont even get a sound when AC3 is active. So i tried to configure a bit, but all i get is a MPEG Audio but no AC3. I use the same Audio settings for Video or DVD and if i play a DVD or Video it plays AC3.

SO PLEASE HELP ME....... I THINK I GET MAD.......

What do i need to setup to get TV with AC3??? My TV settings are:

Settings in "Television":

MPEG- Video decoder: MPV Decoder Filter
H.264 Video decoder: CoreAVC Video Decoder
Audio Decoder: DScaler Audio Decoder
Audio renderer: Aureon 5.1 Fun Wave
Deinterlace mode: none
Default zoom mode: Stretch

Settings in "TV Post Processing" :
Activated filter: AC3Filter
(When i tur of the AC3Filter in Post Processing i dont get even a sound when i select AC3)

Settings in "TV Client - Audio Settings":

Available Languages: German, German (yes it's 2 times in there), German-Middle, German-Old, Germanic

"Prefer AC3" is on
"Prefer Audiotype Over Language" is on

Settings in "DirectShow Filter Control - Dscaler Audio Decoder":

Speaker config: Stereo
"Use S/PDIF for AC3/DTS" is on
"Dynamic Range Control" is on
"MPEG Audio over S/PDIF" is off
"S/PDIF delay offset (msec)" is 0

Can anyone help me??

Regards

Dirk

Something I forgot. When I use PVAStrumento, to show infos about the recording files, there is no AC3-Stream inside the .ts-File.

I guess its a problem of the Aureon FUN 5.1. I never got it really working with AC3 / DTS.
I changed the soundcard to a Creative X-Fi and never had Problems again.

Pretty much ppl experience problems with that Aureon soundcard. Just search for it on google.
I´ve read somewhere that the Aureon can only send Stereo via SPDIF. Strange somehow but it seems really to be.

If you want to use AC3Filter as postprocess, you must have the AC3 filter installed. Download it from the AC3 website (Use google to find it), and then also select it in Mediaportal as the audiodecoder to be used.

Once the ac3filter is installed, configure it such that it uses the S/PDIF, and select AC3, DTS and Mpeg Passthrough(if your soundcard supports this)

Deselect the Dscaler filter and make sure it wont be used by lowering the merit to DO NOT USE. If not, sometimes it loads anyway, and if AC3 and Dscaler are used both, a movie with DTS audio will stutter. Note that a merit change becomes active after a computer restart.

After I Installed the AC3 filter and set it up as above, all AC3, DTS and Mpeg audio streams directly into my Marantz receiver where it will use the Marantz D/A converters to generate sound to my speakers, which of course are much better then those on the soundcard.

    I hope this helps!

I use Radlight to change codec Merits

I Use Graphedit to check which codecs are used in mediaportal (or per movie file)

    Lots

Well, i dont think that this i correct. I use the Aureon for 3 Years now and i allways had AC3. I still have AC3 when i watch DVD on Mediaportal. So i dont think that changing the Hardware would solve the problem.
