Please post the MediaPortal logs then. The only thing we do in those methods is calling the same method on the TvBusinessLayer, which probably tries to switch a tuner that's currently used for another channel to your channel, which causes MP to crash because it's video signal disappears. We don't interact with the running MP in any way. But this is just speculation, so please post your logs.

Is it possible to disable the need for authentication on the JSON part? Im testing and stuff and the authentication im not able to get working as of yet but would like to continue further.

Yes, that's possible. You've to edit C:\Program Files (x86)\TV4Home Core Service\TV4Home.Server.CoreService.exe.config and remove the <serviveCredentials> and <security> tags there (and then restart the service). Sorry for the slow answer.
