I updated to 1.37 (x86) today, and the TV service is now failing to start.

TVService.log has this line:

Tvservice stopped due to an unhandled app domain exception System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void TvControl.RemoteControl.set_InstanceLocal(TvControl.IController)'.

(No obvious errors in the install logs.)

In the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server" most files are timestamped 2025-04-14, but TvControl.dll has a 2020-12-31 timestamp. Is this expected?

I can upload all the logs, give system spec etc, but given the error and anomalous timestamp, I just want to check first that it's not simply an out-of-date TvControl.dll.

In the 64-bit version of MP 1.37, that DLL has the same timestamp as "TvDatabase.dll" and "TvLibrary.dll".

I have an install of 32-bit MP 1.37 on 32-bit Windows 7, but I cannot remember which system it is on, so I will have to see if I can find it. (I have multiple partitions with Windows and different versions of MP, spread over two different physical systems.)

I notice that your timestamp is older than mine (yours: 2025-04-14; mine: 2025-05-01). There have been two bug-fix releases since the initial release of MP 1.37. I am using the latest, so I would suggest that you download the current version of the installer and re-install.

    Thank, very helpful.

My download was done today from the link on Download MediaPortal for free! - MEDIAPORTAL but is the initial release MediaPortalSetup_x86_1.37.000_2025-04-14-08-37.zip.

The page MediaPortal 1.37 Release - MEDIAPORTAL has a more recent link, MediaPortalSetup_x86_1.37.000_2025-05-03-18-19.zip. I've now installed that and the TV service is now running. (TvControl.dll timestamp now matches the other files in the server dir - all now 2025-05-03.)

Not sure if the issue was with the original 1.37 release or some problem with my PC but it's all good now. Thanks again for your help!
