Hello,

I see the odd bit about TVE3.5 here and there, mainly that it is still under development and will be part of MP2, but I was wondering what it is actually going to do/how it will be better than the current TV server? Is it a big improvement, or mainly minor ones?

Also, are there plans to develop the recording scheduling to work in a similar manner to Argus TV? I like the options available (e.g. keep 10 recordings) and the fact that I can do it all through a web interface, see skipped recordings etc. As good as Argus is, I HATE having to have another layer of complexity running just to schedule recordings (and I also hate how it auto creates channels if there is an EPG channel). When I'm in work and I happen to see an advert for a program on the TV, I like being able to jump on my phone and set it up from there.

Thanks for all the work, and am looking forward to early next year for the MP2 release date.

    Hi.
TVE3.5 won't bring new web interface for you.
At least with MP2 this will be possible in future. We're working on implementing a global web interface to the MP2 server. This will surely be available for TVE3.5 too... But atm the webserver did nothing aside telling it's running... ;) So please be patient...

Does webmediaportal interact with tvwishplugin? For as far as I was able to see in the documentation it does not.
I'll need to install a new media center soon since my machine died today.
And if I don't really need argus that would be fine for me.

I've looked at that yes, but it seems somewhat basic. Also, I didnt see the test schedule I created in WMP appear within MediaPortal itself meaning I would have two separate sets of schedules.

Hopefully though MP2 will solve all of these little niggly problems, or certainly have the facility to solve them if it has some form of API. Once again, I think the Argus TV API is a good benchmark. With something like that, if a tool didn't exist I could simply create it myself.

    Thank you for the replies.

MP doesn't automatically/continually refresh the schedule list. So, you won't see the WMP-created schedule unless you backed out of the MP schedule list after saving, and then go back in.
