instead of rescanning a whole list of transponders (too many obsolete data in there), where possible I rescan only transponders known to contain NIT data. This perfectly works on TVE3, but does not on TVE3.5 - it cannot find lists resulting in 0 result found.

Another thing, is it possible to have last frequencies, rates, etc. used in advanced tuning options saved instead of hardcoded values (frrequency 10744000, symbol rate 22000, etc.)?

    Log files please. :)
(...and about obsolete transponders, there should be none if you use "update satellite list")

Done already in my local working branch. :)

    here are logs.

1st tune is for NIT scan (this transponder definitely has the NIT table for the provider) and 2nd is just fort a single transponder scan (same one).

As to obsolete transponders, even if lists contain only correct and active transponders (which you really never know), knowing where are NITs (of needed providers) saves quite a time of scanning. Also, I compared the 36E list a while ago with actual NIT tables for two providers and noticed differences (though relatively minor) in frequencies which may affect S2 tuning in tough weather conditions, etc. and "duplications" when frequencies differ insignificantly and actually represent same transponders (probably received by blind scanning).

Hmmm, the scan is not running for very long:
    [2015-01-12 02:19:11,848] [80369 ] [30 ] [DEBUG] - ScanNIT: tuner locked:True signal:78 quality:98
    [2015-01-12 02:19:15,244] [83764 ] [30 ] [DEBUG] - Found 0 multiplex(es), service information available = True...

TsWriter says it found some NIT:
    12-01-2015 02:20:27.216 NitParser: group name, group ID = 0x70, language = 0, name = NTV+

However, that may not be the NIT section(s) with the transponder details. You may need to scan for longer to catch the NIT with transponder details.

I've tried increasing tune time to 10 sec, and this value visually seems to be ignored at NIT scan - 0 result appears without noticeable delay increase.

Tune timeout is not relevant to scan time. It controls the maximum time to wait for locking on signal.
    Please try the SDT/VCT timeout.

increased SDT/VCT from default 20 to 60 sec and still the same 0 result. BTW scan is finished (and was before) well before 20 sec (and then 60 sec) are over.
