TVE3 FireDTV/S Unable to start timshifting / unable (1 Viewer)

Currently for testing I am only using un-encrypted channels i.e. I deleted scrambled or encrypted from the channels menu in the TVServer setup.

I have basically taken the defaults i.e.

DiSeQc: None
Band: Ku-Linear (Universal)
Satellite: Astra 2A/2B/2D 28.2E, Eurobird 1

I have not overridden the LNB frequencies at all (as per your screen dump)

I scan for the channels and I pick up 750+ and about 200 radio which is cool .. but I get the Timeshift / Graph error as detailled above.

I found a few issues that were similar, related to standby mode ans TSWriter.ax which should have been resolved by the revision of TVE and MP I have running. There are a few other recent threads similar to my issue with no feedback as of yet .. is this a defect ? should I raise a bugtrack ? any help greatly appreciated ..

Anyone seem this before ? is it a defect ? should I raise a bugtrack ?

Install TVPlugin too(the other installer in TVE3 download, so they don't try to use the same card both MediaPortal & TV Server

yup, i have this installed .. I also have the mptvclient installed also .. both give the same results as does the timeshift button in the test section in the tvserver setup

Can you try a different timeshift folder against the one you actually record too (or is it different already), saw that a couple of times giving a strange non related problem.

Not sat knowledgeable yet, hopefully once summer hols over will get it set up, so very limited in helping you.

mky21, the logs you have posted tells that it is used without TV Plugin, attach new logs using either TV Server & MediaPortal + TVPlugin or MediaPortal old engine as stand alone(bit hard to read when something shows one thing & another log shows something else).

Hi, Ok, I reinstalled the TVEngine and TVClient Plugin, ran the test tool to clear the logs, fired up MP and went into "My TV" and tried to start the TV, and got the TimeShift error, I then went through some other unencrypted channels and tried to start those and got the TimeShift error. I then fired up MPTVClient 1.25 and done the same for a few unencrypted channels and also got the TimeShift error. I have attached my logs from the MP Test Tool.

I had a similiar problem with a FloppyDTV/S caused by a faulty CAM, but since not even FTA channels worked, it took some time to figure out.

Hi Leon, could you still view channels through the firedtv viewer ? I can see all my channels OK with the firedtv viewer which is why I had ruled out an issue for the firedtv h/w / CAM etc ..

I will reseat the CAM and give it another go.

is there any specific CI/CAM configuration I have to carry out with the FireDTV support utilities before MP will work with the FireDTV/S and the Trex CAM ? Even if I do not want any encrypted channels for now ?

Will MP work without the CAM inserted in the CI slot (it works with FireDTV Viewer)
