First many thanks to the MediaPortal Team. I love the great vision and the whole idea surrounding MediaPortal and TVE3.
I think its great that so many people put so much expertise and energy into this project.
There are so many "little things" in MP that are just so right that I cant understand why it isnt implemented "everywhere". For instance the possibility to adjust the size of the picture. Its just great!
Alas I'm no "guru" into programming at all, so I have to rely on smart people to do this.
BUT I HAVE manged to build a graph with graphedit for my "Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-TD Diversity Stick" and:

When using MP 0.2.2.9993 SVN 16429 with my Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-TD Diversity Stick, it works fine (apart from some locking when trying to navigate "backwards" from TV-viewing to the settings-menu--this is probably just an unfortunate bug-thingy) after producing a graph in graphedit and making the right pinconnections for my tuner-card.
This option (making the pinconnections) does not exist in TVE3 --or should I say-- there is no file called capturecarddefinitions.xml as in Mediaportal that I can write the results from graphedit into for TVE3 to use.
It is my "gut-feeling" that TVE3 is producing wrong pinconnections, since it keeps telling me there's noaudiovideo detected but finds all the right channels for my card. Same message when trying to use MP with the client-plugin installed--ofcourse since MP with the client-plugin uses TVE3 as supplier of tv-stream. Is there a way to tell TVE3 to use same card-data as MP: the data in capturecarddefinitions.xml?? and then hopefully get the "audiovideo detected"?

Earlier in my try-outs with MP I "always" got the message that looked something like: "Cannot begin timeshifting, no audiovideo detected".
In consequense of this I set the min and max number of timeshiftfiles to zero in setup to try getting on from there and "mess around" inside MP This should apparently prove to BE a WRONG MODUS OPERANDUM.
I have been having a hard time -but still fun and interesting- getting MediaPortal and TVE3 to work.
The following got it working for me:
All I did now after installing the TVE3 1.0.0.16434 and MP 0.2.2.9993 SVN 16429 was to set the values to min 3 and max 3 which is the number of channels I can receive here in DK on free DVB-T.
AND MORE GOOD NEWS: Installing MediaPortal-svn--11-11-2007--01-01-Rev16504 on a client on my homenetwork, opening Windows Firewall on my CLIENT PC for TVservice.exe (with complete path to the directory on my TV-server:"\\K9agm2-5000\d_sam250 (d)\MediaPortalTVServer\TvService.exe". Opening the firewall on my CLIENT PC for Mediaportal.exe referring to location on CLIENT PC: "D:\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe". The opening of the Firewall for the programs is located in "Exceptions" in Firewall management. The openings are made for ONLY THE PC's in my LOCAL SUBNET! NOT for the entire internet
(this is an option!)
And on CLIENT PC also opened the following ports as suggested in threads I found in Mediaportal FORUM. IF it is nessecary I dont really know now that the firewall has beeen opened for the programs in question, but I almost doesnt dare to remove the portopenings since MediaPortal now seem to function locally on the TV-server PC and on my network CLIENT PC. TV-Server RTSP on port 554 TCP, TV-Server UDP streaming on port 6999 UDP, TV-Server UDP streaming on port 6970 UDP.
On the TV-SERVER PC, the firewall is opened for the SQLServr.exe, SQLBrowser.exe, TVServer.exe and MediaPortal.exe. With the full path to their locations respectively!
I have as mentioned in my system-setup only 1 Hauppauge DVB-TD diversity USB STICK, but I still can see all 3 available channels on my CLIENT PC, even when the TV-Server PC is showing a channel I still can choose and watch any of all 3 with ONLY 1 TV-tuner. THATS COOL!
I'm not sure that it really is nescesary to open for all the mentioned programs in the firewall, but I had to try something to make progress )
