Tvengine3 and Hauppague PVR-150 (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I recently bought a Hauppague PVR 150 analog hardware encoding TV-card.
I thought it should be easy to get this card to work with Tvengine 3.
I had searched the forum and found lots of posts that said PVR 150 should work ok with tvengine 3.

Not for me i'm afraid.

When scanning for channels the program aborts.
If you look in the log file the last line int the log is SetupTeletext()
No errorcodes what so ever is displayed after that.

After the program aborts the TV-service i stopped. This might be ok,
for to me it makes sense to stop the server when scanning for channels.

Anybody have any idea what could be wrong ?

Hi and welcome masseman,

I too have a PVR150 and TVE3 which run perfectly together. I suggest to do the following:

1. Apply a clean MP-Install (remember to delete MP-folder).
2. Apply latest SVN.
3. Install latest TVE3.

This should work then. If not, please provide a proper bug-report with all logs.

Thanks for your swift reply.

I followed your instructions. I also deleted database TVlibrary.
It both worked and didn't work....

If i start MyTVs program for teletext, view a channels teletext, an then
close the program again the TVserver works and i can watch TV in mediaportal.

If i then reboot the PC and not start/stop MyTVs teletext program before starting Media Portal the TVservice shuts down .
No errormessage but the last line in the log is SetupTeletext()
Same thing goes for scanning channels.

Why do the TVServer has to access Teletext when starting to stream a channel ?
Is there any setup i can do on MyTV or TVServer to get Teletext active without having to start MyTVs teletext program.

I se no point to provide logs right now.

Hey Mats,

I unfortunately don't get exactly what you want/what your problem is.

1. LiveTV only works when Teletext enabled?
2. You want Teletext without starting MyTV-Teletext? (How should this work?)

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your point, but please try to be a bit more precise.

Hello Paloema,

I'm sorry for my bad explanation of my problem in my last post.
This is how it is.
TVserver can't start timeshifting, scanning for channels or preview a channel if i haven't first started and stopped Hauppagues VTPlus program for teletext.
If i havent done this (start/stopped VTplus) the last line of log.txt is
SetupTeletext() and then i get unknown error but nothing written in the log.

My next move is to try the PVR-150 card in an older computer to see if i get the same problem there.

Wich drivers for PVR 150 are you using ? I'm using 2.7. There are some beta drivers but i haven't dared to try them.

Thats really weird...I have since ages without any problems the driver version 2.0.43.24103.

Never ever had any problems with it...so I stick with them. Maybe you try older version too. Dont forget to use Hauppauge Driver Cleaner to be sure that all is removed actually.

So I would do the following:

1. Remove Hauppauge Drivers
2. Uninstall MP (with deletion of folders!)
3. Apply older Hauppauge Driver
4. Install MP.

Hi,
Seems like driver/software problem, have you tried removing all hauppauge software & just installed the drivers?

As paloema i too have used my PVR150mce successfully for over a year without problems, but I never install/use the bundled software, they seems to mess up the comp..

I will try to unisnstall all hauppague driver and programs and then just install
the drivers. You just gave me back some hope to actually get it working.
