TvPlugin not loading in MP (2 Viewers)

I've started a new thread to change the topic, moderators do as you please.

MP does not seem to want to load TvPlugin.dll. I have 3 systems with the latest SVN and none will connect to TV3. In the TvClient hostname setup I can specify anything I want as the hostname and it makes no difference. The plugin doesn't seem to load.

Help.

Hi,
Have you installed TVPlugin(SetupPlugin.msi) to the correct path where MediaPortal it's installe?
& attach mediaportal.log to your post(log from the other thread it doesn't show up as installed)

Yes, TvPlugin is in the proper ....\plugins\Windows directory. When I open the configuator I can see that MP sees the plugin (All TV2 settings are disabled) but it doesn't load on MP startup.

Hmmm, weird it doesn't load the TVplugin for some reason, & no errors in log either so thats weird.
You did use same svn version of MP & TVPlugin?
You didn't get any errors when installing TVPlugin(SetupPlugin.msi)?

Yes, same SVN version for MP, TV3 and Plugin.
I received no error on 2 systems, the 3rd received an error that DVSub or something could not be found and I hit ignore (That's not the system I'm working with right now).

Same problem here, ripping my hair out
Reinstalled everything that could have to do with it with no luck, but just now I tried an old Mediaportal.xml and now it works.

I will return if I find the differences in the xml's

Well after you told me that I took a look in the xml.
For some reason I'm setup as

<entry name="WindowPlugins.dll">no</entry>
<entry name="ExternalPlayers.dll">no</entry>
<entry name="ProcessPlugins.dll">no</entry>
<entry name="TvPlugin.dll">no</entry>
<entry name="PowerSchedulerClientPlugin.dll">no</entry>
</section>

No idea why the configurator does this. Bug?

After I change WindowsPlugins and TvPlugin to "yes" it works.
If I rerun the config they get reset.

Have you got TVPlugin disabled under MP config\plugins.

Wondering if you have a corrupt mediaportal.xml file, back it up and then try rename it to oldmediaportal.xml, and start config again.

Found it!!!!

In the section <section name="pluginsdlls"> in Mediaportal.xml, TvPlugin.dll becomes "No" for some reason, probably a bug. Fix it by editing manually in notepad to:
<entry name="TvPlugin.dll">yes</entry>

As soon as you use Configuration.exe the faulty values are back. I smell bugs, but why are we the only ones with the problem???

Tried to rename the old mediaportal.xml and made a brand new one with configutation.exe. - Same problem!!! Weird?

Hi,
Smell a bug, hmmm seems like something on your system didn't update when SVN was updated, the best thing it's to rename MediaPortal folder & install new, then test if it works, if it does try to use old settings from MediaPortal.xml & old databases...
