Does anyone have tvserver and skystar 2 card working PERFECTLY??? If so, please tell me exactly what version of tvserver and drivers you use. I'm going crazy. First there was no sound and no video. Then Reinstall. Then i had stuttering sound and crappy video. Then reinstall. Now everything "works" except I cant turn TV on, so again black screen. Is it only me, or does it simply not work?? Please help, because otherwise i'm gonna sell the skystar 2 because I doesnt work till now.

I won't say I have it working perfectly, but I do have it working. One thing I have found is the app is so flexable with codecs it can be tricky getting the right ones for your client setup. Don't mix versions of audio & video is safest, stick with one vendor for both. I have had good luck with the ones that come with the install. As I understand it, the server uses a .ts stream which your client codec needs to decode, so it probably isn't an issue around having a Skystar 2 for the video on the client.
Ther are some forums on isolating video playback issues and a wiki on using VLC player for this which I strongly recommend.. For me I mapped my recording folder on my client pc, then tried playing a MPG recording (configure recording mpg on server) I made with windows media player as a simple test if the server working. It may work with .ts, I just didn't try.

all I get is this lovely message:

error1ko1.jpg

using svn MP and tvserver

this most probably (at least in my case) means that DB connection works, but rtsp is on wrong interface, so I fixed interface and got picture. Jerky and stuttering, hope because of 4.4.1 drivers.

I have 2 working perfectly with the TV engine3, latest SVN version and using both BDA drivers and the "standard" ones from the 4.4.1 Beta release (another somewhere with links to these) Have you tried it in a different PCI slot?

There are many potential pitfalls with any card and setup, you will get far better support if you post in accordance with the guidelines posted elsewhere, the problem could lie anywhere and you have offered no logs, systems setup etc.

it's important to use the beta-bda-driver as mdsflyer said. the latest one won't work. I run an Airstar 2 (now) without probs.

as I read, 4.4.1 driver doesnt support motor, and since I have motor, theres one reason for not going to 4.4.1

Why not use the WDM drivers that come with the CD supplied with the card then? Still no logs so unable to help further,

cheers

Motor? Here comes the pain...I've not seen any one get a motor work with a SS2 even with WDM drivers. :-( Yes you are quite right there is no Disecq support at all in the SS2 BDA driver) I have a SS2 and I've been though driver hell and back with it, especially when it comes to switching from the BDA back for to the WDM (or vice versa).

If you don't want to do a clean O/s build:
1.Uninstall as much technisat as possible from the add/remove progs.
2.Go to work on the registry removing any subkeys releated to technisat or b2c2. when I say subkeys I mean search the registry for e.g. b2c2 and when yo find an object check to see the entire folder that object is in is realted to the card; if so delete it!
3.Do a search for files within c:\windows\inf for any files containing the text technisat or b2c2. Delete them all!
    4.In c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers delete anything skynet.
5.Delete anything in c:\program files releated to technisat

6.Reboot point the new hardware found wizard to WDM driver. and let it install it. It shoudl appear under network cards in device manager (not under Multimedia devices)
7.Install the software that comes with driver setup.exe (This includes the applicaion called Setup4PC)
8.Rescan channels and test using the preview button in TVServer. If it's working then you're in the position to start testing the motor but like I say I don't think anyone has got it working before. (Things may have changed I sold my motor a while ago)

Use at your own risk (Regedit/deleting files)!!!

    Cheers,
