I tried it with the firewall disabled on both server and client but that made no difference.
Yes, I can play the recorded file on any pc on the network using VLC.

i still think it might be a firewall issue.

when i was having problems with multiseat i used this to find out if mediaportal was causing the trouble.

install it and try. see also if you get an OK in the ports

Hey, This is totally bizare.
My setup is working now but I don't know what I did to fix it!
All i've done is re-install the latest version of MP on the client machine and install a wireless pci card....and now it works perfectly.
Very strange. I'll try it again tomorrow to make sure but all looks good so far. Didn't try the tool you mentioned but I've downloaded it for future problem solving.

I'll try to reinstall client - the wireless card, was that added to client or server???
