TV-Server Crashes
I basically can’t use Media Portal as ‘normal’ TV
My setup is ‘networked’ – one machine with the TvServer (XP Pro@Pentium D / 2GB Ram) and two other machines with clients (HTPC as shown above & my ‘workstation’)
First of all – the TvServer don’t start automatically – even though it’s on ‘auto-start’ in services!
When I have manually started the server I can successfully start my MP client, and watch live-tv and change channels etc.
(But the ‘first’ channel that MP starts will not be shown – after I change the channel once everything is fine!)
If I close the MP client and try to open the MP client again, it hangs for a long time in ‘Loading Window Plugins’ (aprox 30 sec.) – when it finally starts it’s not possible to enter MyTv (MP freezes!)
When I check my server the TvServer has stopped!!!!!!!
– I can manually start it again, but it’s “Groundhog day” all over again! (It works fine once – and then crashes)
When I check the system-events on the Server, I can see the errors listed below. - It’s worth noticing that the errors appear WHILE I watch TV (remember MP works one time after service restart), and they don’t seem to affect ‘that session’ – I can change channels and watch TV for quite a while (haven’t timed – but never crashes, I always close MP).
The errors:
Source: SideBySide - Event ID: 32
Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.
Source: SideBySide - Event ID: 59
Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFC. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.
Source: SideBySide - Event ID: 59
Generate Activation Context failed for Z:\MediaPortal TV Server\KNCBDACTRL.dll. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.
As I write this (and copy-paste the desriptions etc.) I can see that the server actually ‘crashes’ for no apparent reason….
Finally I just thought I should mention another (small and unimportant) problem I noticed;
when I press ‘Y’ in live-tv, the entire screen goes blue – not just the EPG info boxes! – When you press ‘Y’ again live-tv returns!
I really –RELLY- hope you can help me with a solution!!!
